Bad vertical banding.

However there are what appear to be vertical banding lines which are somewhat grey when black is being displayed. This is really noticeable during dark scenes and very distracting. Unfortunately I bought the TV as a birthday gift for my son and the 'return' period expired before we even hooked it up. Not sure what to do about it.

Grainy picture quality

I just unboxed the LG 77" CX and immediately noticed how grainy the background picture was. I tested it on Rise of Skywalker and Alien Covenant in 4K UHD and the black level, background buzz and general sharpness seems much worse than the A8H. It also seems to get worse with fast motion. I'm very disappointed but I'm wondering if my tv is defective or if this is just the image quality. Has anyone else had this issue?

The remote is terrible.

No lighting, poor key location. The Samsung BN59 remote is much better. Also webOS TV is not that great.

Worst TV Experience. Thin Line on Screen.

I noticed a faint thin line early on when I bought this TV (it actually appears that half the panel is lighter than the other half). Called LG, they looked at it and don’t see an issue, said it’s within tolerance. Thanks to GeekSquad protection I got a 2nd panel, but it’s the same issue. I’m not sure if I have a defective panel each time or if this is a persistent issue with the model. Needless to say, I bought this TV because I wanted this best. However, the quality control here is poor. When watching content with bright colors it’s fine. But anything remotely dark you can see there’s something very off here. TV’s aren’t a yearly purchase. However, I’ve wanted nothing more than to replace this thing. I feel like I would’ve been better off buying a cheaper TV, whereby my expectations would have been much lower. But if you’re someone looking for the best TV out there, as OLEDs are often touted, don’t be surprised when it comes up short.

Exceeded all of my expectations!

I'm not one for hyperbole, but this TV is AH-MAY-ZING. We thought we had a pretty nice TV before, but it's been a transformative experience getting to know this awesome piece of technology. First, the size of it; even though the TV is a massive 77 inches, because the actual thickness of the screen is less than half an inch, it is still light, easy to maneuver, and sits snug up to the wall. (There is also the option to have it standing, in which case, there is a weighted base to balance.) This is the perfect TV for movie night, because we can sit a bunch of people all around the room and there is a perfect view from any angle! The picture quality; this is why you buy this TV. If you've never watched on an OLED screen, you're missing out big time! Without getting too technical (but look it up, it's so interesting), the picture quality of the Organic LED is unlike any top quality TV screen I've seen before. It's ability to bring vivid colors, blackest blacks, brightness in the dark scenes, clarity, detail, and more, has blown me away. I watched my favorite sitcom series and noticed the tiniest things in the background that I'd never seen before. I marvel at how the screen clarity makes shows look like big budget films. It literally feels like you're in the scene and on set. Connectivity; This Smart TV has become a hub for all our smart tech in the house. Not only is it fully connected to the internet (we could browse all day laying in the recliners!), LG has an app for our phones to connect and control everything, and it makes being in charge of it all from anywhere so simple. The TV comes pre-loaded with most popular apps, but LG has a suite of popular apps (Netflix, Hulu, etc.) as well as some original ones that you can download directly to the TV. Switching between apps is very easy, just a couple of clicks on the smart remote. Speaking of remote, I've never had a remote that I could speak to- thanks Alexa!- or that can be used as an IR pointer, to point and click at things on the screen. It's really just fun to use! One of the cool things is the art screensaver feature that makes the TV look like a giant framed art piece on the wall. The set-up and installation of the TV was easy enough for us to do ourselves. We got it working within minutes; at first it was difficult to connect to LG, but connecting an ethernet cable fixed the issue. Working perfectly ever since!

Beware

The flicker/ghosting/refresh rate issue has now begun and I don't know how to fix it. It appears I wasted 3000K on a TV that could be incredible, but now is way below average. I am so disappointed. Movies are my whole life and now I am destroyed.

Bait and switch. Pushy Associates at Store.

Upon arrival at the store, I ask about the condition of the unit. I am told that it should match the "excellent" condition that it was sold as online. I ask if I can check it first, and I am told "no, you have to accept the item first and then you can decide." I accept the purchase and they tell me they will load it in the back of the truck I rented. After loading, I go check it and there is NO BOX, NO REMOTE, NO STAND, or any other accessories. The TV is poorly wrapped in bubble wrap. They were trying to get me to drive away with a product that was misrepresented at every stage of the process. I will never do business with Best Buy again.

$3,000 Disappointment

When this tv works it’s fantastic. Problem is I have owned the tv for 6 months and it has broken twice. First it had the display fail and leave a black line in the screen, after suffering with that for weeks waiting on LG to send someone out I finally get it back and two months later it loses all power in the middle of watching tv. Try to turn it back on and just a flash of light and back to no power. What a joke. I am currently still waiting on LG customer service to attempt to rectify this situation. Stay away unless you are looking for a 77” $3,000 black picture frame.

RUN AND DO NOT LOOK BACK.

It is as though the picture is painted on. As though there are no waves on the water just a color. Called Best Buy and was told the first year I must call LG for help even though I have a Best Buy 2 year contract. . The eight year old Mitsubishi comes in 1000 times better and it is from the same signal. What a horrible choice I made and the Best Buy salesman said this this is the better TV. This LG TV is the worst TV I have ever bought. It is unacceptable. I thought the Samsung was bad but this is worse. Also the control is so very small. Do not buy this awful TV.

Beware Open Box Description

I ordered an open box item in excellent condition online. I borrowed a friends box truck and put $50 in fuel in it before driving 30 miles to tge store. When they brought it out it was the TV only with no stand or remote. Excellent condition states that it includes all accessories/parts. I was told there was nothing they could do about it and no effort was made to compromise in the situation. I am now out $50 and two hours of my time with no TV. Best Buy has lost a customer.

Worse experience ever

Over a month for delivery and the third party best buy uses could not tell me where the tv was. After about the 8th phone a made trying to find the tv i just ask for my money back. Terrible customer service from best buy and i was never even afford compensation.
