Overpriced even on sale for what it is. Had a Vizio OLED played everything in full screen with crisp picture. This G5 half the time not in full screen. Why did I buy a bigger tv only to have it not be full screen. And yes settings are correct. I am not zooming to get a full screen picture. Didn’t have to do it on m y Vizio OLED. Second MAJOR gripe is the back of the tv is metal and after watching it makes noise like my motorcycle after watching to the point it’s obnoxious . It has a great picture even though. It full screen and is bright. But that’s where it ends. By the way they changed the remote which is so FLIMSY the y 3d printed it. Even on sale would not buy again.

Hi, Rozap. Thank you for sharing your experience with the LG TV (OLED77G5WUA). We value your feedback and recognize the significance of full-screen playback, quiet operation, and remote quality. For issues with full-screen display, check the Aspect Ratio settings under Settings > Picture > Aspect Ratio Settings > User Selection. Some streaming apps may default to letterbox or pillarbox views. You can enable Just Scan to fill the screen without cropping. The sound from the metal back panel may result from thermal expansion after prolonged use; while harmless, it can be noticeable in quiet spaces. Proper ventilation can help reduce this. Nice TV. I Had to play with the settings to keep the color from over saturating. The remote is disappointing for a TV this expensive. I ended up buying an aftermarket remote.

Purchased this tv after watching reviews of LG tvs being great ! Right out the box it did not even power on ! Had it replaced and the second one lasted about 8 hours before having a similar issue to the first and not powering on ! Picture was amazing the few hours it worked but I couldn’t keep doing this runaround ! Gave in an swapped for a Samsung and had zero issues since

Hello there, SamS. Thank you for sharing your experience with us regarding the LG 77" Class G5 Series OLED evo AI 4K UHD Smart webOS TV. We understand your inquiry about the unit not powering on, especially after receiving a replacement with a similar issue. We are sorry to hear that this has caused you an inconvenience.

Since the unit failed to power on, a common first troubleshooting step for this type of issue is a power cycle, which can sometimes reset the internal circuits.

      Basic Troubleshooting Step:

Unplug the LG 77G5 from the wall outlet or power strip.

Press and hold the power button on the TV itself (usually on the underside/center) for 10-15 seconds.

Leave the TV unplugged for at least 5 minutes.

Plug the TV back into a working wall outlet (not a surge protector or power strip) and try turning it on.

Won't buy until LG fixes Dolby Vision posterization / raised blacks issue with a firmware update Others Please be informed and look at pro reviews Was very excited for this set as it does have a great feature set. But I watch a lot of Dolby Vision content and right now any Dolby Vision content (especially streamed) will lookile trash during low light scenes. Will buy and fix review once this issue is fixed. Own several other LG OLEDs (E6, C9, G1), so I'm not just bashing their product.

Hi, Tom. Firmware 33.10.19 identifies several issues when viewing streamed and 4K UHD disc content in both HDR10 and Dolby Vision formats, including raised blacks. Black levels were displayed brighter than they should have been at 1-3% brightness, and additionally, floating blacks were observed in both streamed Dolby Vision and 4K HDR10 disc content.
The firmware resolves the issues, and HDR10 versions were free from issues, such as floating blacks, dark gradations, and posterization. The 1-3% brightness checks were still ever so slightly raised, but nothing that normal viewing, even in a pitch-black room, would be seen by the majority of viewers...^Ivan. LG
