I’ve owned several high-end TVs over the years, but the LG 84" OLED evo has completely redefined what I thought was possible in home entertainment. The picture quality is jaw-dropping—deep, inky blacks, vibrant colors, and brightness that holds up even in a sunlit room. Whether I’m watching movies in Dolby Vision or gaming at 144Hz, the performance is buttery smooth and incredibly immersive. The Gen 8 α9 AI Processor is no joke—it intelligently enhances everything I watch, and the upscaling makes even older content look stunning. The sound quality with Dolby Atmos fills the room, and the ultra-slim design makes it a sleek centerpiece. LG’s webOS is intuitive and fast, and I love the access to hundreds of free LG Channels. This TV isn’t just a screen—it’s an experience. If you’re on the fence, don’t be. This is the ultimate upgrade for movie lovers, gamers, and anyone who wants the best of the best.

Outstanding picture. Took a bit to find the right settings by using the isf settings and turning all the features off. I was ready to send it back before I figured this out. Now, I realize how much sharper, brighter and the darkest blacks I have seen since upgrading from my Sony 900 series. I love how thin this is and only sits about an inch off the wall. The mount it comes with is nice, but is small and needs to be centered between two studs as it is only 16” long.

I don’t usually write reviews, but I had to for this beast of a TV. The LG G5 83” is hands-down the most beautiful screen I’ve ever laid eyes on. The brightness is unreal Ive owned oleds but this is a differently level of brightness. It holds up during the day with sunlight pouring into the room, and at night it’s even more jaw-dropping. Honestly, even as Tvs continuously improve, anything brighter than this is literally unnecessary. The colors are so vibrant, everything pops without looking fake or overly saturated. Skin tones look natural, blacks are inky, and HDR content? Wow. It’s like the movie theater moved into my living room. It’s a splurge, yes. But once it’s on your wall, you’ll forget what life was like before it. If you’re even remotely considering it, take the leap. Worth every single penny.

I previously had a 77 inch Sony A80j and I cannot believe the difference in picture quality and brightness. I'm glad I decided to get to get it. Love this thing.

Fantastic picture quality. Upgrade from a 77" has given the living room a much more in-theater feeling. 83" compatible G4 stand is still on back-order, so that will be an obstacle unless you're planning to use the in-box wall mount. Photo is of the 65" version installed in the kitchen.

Motion handling is terrible on all settings

The picture is pretty good. The Motion is horrible. The picture stutters and is blurry when the camera pans. I have tried all the settings; Judder, Motion blur, Cinematic, Motion enhancement and then Ai enhancement. I just can't seem to make it not annoying without getting the soap opera effect. I am coming from a Plasma tv that was nearly perfect in every way eleven years ago. This might be the normal for all tv's with 120hz. Plasma is 600hz. I was just hoping i would like the top tv on the market.

My Samsung 78” curve started going, and I knew I needed a new TV. I’ve always gone Samsung, but reading the reviews on the new G4 model, I knew I was getting it when it came out. IMHO, the LG blows the Samsung out of the water with picture quality, brightness, and overall “sharpness”. You seem to drawn into the TV, the picture is that incredible. I saw that some complained about the price, but it is what it is, there are cheaper options. I haven’t had any issues with it (knock on wood, being a new model), and definitely recommend it!

Marginally better than other sets for TV viewing

Great Picture noticeable improvement from the 83" Samsung I had that was four years old. Biggest take away is the darker blacks. Since I've only watched 1080, it was probably not worth the $5k to upgrade from my existing set so I'd recommend pulling the plug on this model at about $2600 whenever that will be. The set is fairly difficult to calibrate to your liking because there are a lot of settings. Out of the box, faces are orange and color is oversaturated in the vivid mode. It was cartoonishly bright. I found the best picture was the personalized mode where you compare pictures and then after that's locked in, made further adjustments to brightness and clarity. Again, I wish there was something I could try out the 4K on but I don't really do gaming and not spending $20 on UHD discs of movies I've already seen. At the $5K current price it's not recommended due to a marginal improvement over other 1080 smart TVs.

As the Owner of an LG CX OLED, I always wondered what I missing with the addition of Evo & MLA to the LG OLEDs. Well, after getting the G4, I now know! Its definitely brighter (which took getting used to), but that helps really make things shine in 4K. And after having debated between the 83” G4 or the 77” Sony A95L OLED, I feel like i made the right decision going with the G4. I really enjoy the size & picture quality on this TV!

Beautiful tv, great picture and it install clean and flushed on the wall. The screen is bright and the colors are rich. I added a surround system since my room was wide and one space and the tv audio did not fill the space as I wanted it to. Very happy with the choice!

The G4 is amazing. Anyone thinking of going bigger from a 65”, go for it! I really like the advance screen setting available now. Don’t let that scare you, the picture presets are great. Finally, this TV is so bright, even in Dolby Vision it can hurt your eyes. The walls of the room are filled with color from this TV. It was well worth the upgrade.

Returned the Hisense 100 inch set for this one as the low light scenes on the Hisense was awful. I was a little worried that 83 inches wouldn’t be big enough, but if you don’t need a huge tv, this tv is amazing! By far the best HDR/Dolby Vision I’ve ever seen as the brightness is hilariously good on tv shows, movies and gaming. The new chip that LG is using now really makes this set a game changer, incredible motion, color accuracy, and clarity feels like you’re consuming the content like you’re supposed to for the first time. My last tv I’ve purchased from LG was the GX a few years ago and this tv outperforms that one across the board. Is it worth the purchase price? Only you can answer that as the 83 inch is pretty expensive but if we’re just talking about quality and performance? Yes, highly recommended.

The LG G4 has completely blown me away. The picture quality is jaw-dropping, vibrant colors, perfect blacks, and incredible brightness that handles both dark rooms and daytime glare effortlessly. Whether you’re watching movies in Dolby Vision or gaming in 4K at 120Hz, it delivers a flawless, immersive experience. The design is sleek and ultra-premium, it truly looks like a piece of art mounted on the wall. If you’re looking for a high-end OLED that combines performance and aesthetics, this is hands down the one to beat. Highly recommend!

Nice big screen, image is absolutely insane how great the specular highlights in HDR look, while also being able to show a lot of shadow detail in dark scenes as well. Colors really pop, and the TV honestly can't be beat for how well it handles the image in gaming mode, while giving a fantastic latency at high frame rates (120 and 144 hz). Can't recommend it enough
