I miss Bluray drives for PC. I’m not completely sold with the disc-less computers out there. This little unit handles everything perfectly!

This is a great little Blu-ray player. It comes with software to watch Blu-rays and DVDs. No issues at all. Good price, too!

No complaint I used it once, pick this one the apple drive because this plays blu ray- is plug and play and pretty quick- on my Mac it required set up but not the pc so I never actually used it on the mac

Works well out of the box, and can be flashed for 4K content. I did switch to a Pioneer native 4K external drive but for the price this one is great!

Very easy to setup this blue ray player. Works well with regular DVDs as well and no need to download additional software. I bought it to convert our DVDs / blue ray to digital for video editing. You can also just use it to watch movies on your computer as well if you don;t want to take up hard drive space.

This thing is so easy to use I could be a guy and not read instructions. Plays Blu-Rays beautifully and cutting Blu-Ray data disks is a breeze with the included and very intuitive Cyberlink software.

This unit is very slick, clean and it works every time. The other one I had gotten years ago just didn't work right from the beginning. Hit or miss when watching movies. It loads programs on my new computer very well. No problems.

Least expensive double layer Blu-ray writer reader. It is light and small without needing heavy & large power adapter. Perfect solution for laptops and desktops. It also has LED light for status. And a real push eject button is perfect hardware solution. It is good for authoring Blu-Ray Video content and transferring lots of files to Blu-Rays, DVDs, CDs. (Side comments, Bestbuy decided to stop selling commercial Blu-Rays Movies in stores. Bestbuy had a lot more customers in stores when they carry ALL commercial Blu-Rays movies.)

Great blu-ray drive! The firmware can be upgraded so it can play 4k UHD disks. It's a relatively easy process -- just search for "My Guide to Flashing an LG BP50NB40."

I've had trouble with LG internal Blu-Ray drives but this external drive has been excellent from the start. Playing Blu-Ray discs just fine with included PowerDVD 12 on a Windows 10 64 bit PC, as well as a Win 7 64-Bit PC. A little loud but I don't care. Time will tell, but I'm pleased thus far.

It gets the job done. The software it comes with is crumby and takes up a ton of space, but there's plenty of good free software out there that works. The device is quite loud, but that's my only complaint.

Needed something since the computer didn't come with a dvd or BD drive .. so this was small, compact, and easy to fit in a pocket with the laptop 2-in-1 device to travel with .. Used to view some movies I purchased on down time while traveling .. as well as uploading older software that still has physical discs ..

You may want to spring for a model with support for UHD discs if you want complete support for all modern Blu Ray releases, but this is good for the price. For those who care, I can confirm that this works fine for playback on Linux with VLC. You'll need to set up some additional dependencies for menu support (requires a Java 8 runtime) and content decryption, but it's easy enough to find instructions if you just search "blu ray playback <distro name>". The included CyberLink PowerDVD software works fine on Windows, but it might be a bit dated/bloated for some people's taste. You'll also see some ads in the software; though only for CyberLink's products.

Despite being, in appearence like the drive it is replacing, this one works like a champ. I don't own any blnak blu-rays, but this dirve sure displays them with the right software, and it worked a bunch backing my blu-ray movies up to hard drive. Initially it was quite loud, but it quieted down and has been stable ever since.

Nice and small and works great. Simple to use and is nice and slim to fit into my computer bag without even noticing it was there. Cord is mini USB 2, so the same cord works for my phone or the player. software loaded right up and worked as soon as I connected it. Always liked LG products.

Haven't had a chance to try out the burning aspect but reading/playing DVD and Blu-Rays have been great. A little loud when first loading up but otherwise no complaints about the drive. The software though is about 5-6 versions behind what is currently out there which is a disappointment.
