I need a external Blu-ray player to use on my iMac works every time Price was reasonable

I was getting ready to burn some DVD's of my pictures in order to archive them when the internal Blu-Ray burner in my computer died. I could not find any internal ones (slim) for my computer. Went to Best Buy and the associated recommended the LG 8X External drive. Plugged in the usb cables (1 power and 1 data) and got to work. Was able to make my discs and I didn't have to have computer repaired. And now I can use this with my laptop (which has no disc drive) as well. Really a great deal

This is a great external, USB Blu ray player. Compact, quiet light weight and does the job.

Solid product. Good starter software package comes with drive. Played CD and Blu-ray without a hitch. This unit will replace my USB, LG DVD writer that is becoming intermittent.

So I. Got this for my MacBook because I was looking to expand my watching options. It’s easy to use and is pretty much just plug and play. Just be aware it uses two ports on your usb. In the end I had to return it because I’m able to watch Blue Ray I would have to spend more money for the program for my Mac. Wish it already shipped with one and I’d change my stars.

We purchase this to play Blu-rays through our laptop. It worked well for that purpose; however, it took a bit to realize it required a software download (don’t recall if it was in the instructions or not). For that reason, I gave it 4 instead of 5 stars, but 4.5 is more deserving because it worked once we installed the software. We haven’t had it or used it enough to know how durable it is.

Plays Blu-Rays, CD's and DVD's and works great with my Mac although you will need to install an app to play Blu-Rays.

Overall good product. I'm not in love with the way you control it, I feel like they vould have done better but I wanted one that could play Blu-ray and this was pretty much the one.

I needed this for my laptop because the laptop did not have a DVD drive and I wanted to play Blu-ray movies and after I used it two times so far its been perfect for what I needed. The price was higher then others I have seen but you get what you pay for so I don't have anything wrong to say about the performance so it was worth the money.

I purchased this unit to use with a new laptop that did not come with a built in DVD/CD reader/writer ...most laptops don't anymore. This product works well and while not used often, gives me a solid solution to work with and enjoy disc media. It worked straight out of the box, basically plug and play. TIP: research compatibility with Windows 10! You may have to download software drivers to take full advantage of this external drive's features.
