Not Bad At All
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this because my wife and I wanted to be able to watch our blu-ray movies on my laptop when we are on the go. It plays the discs without any issues and comes packaged with a nice suite of software, which is where the one star was taken off. The bundled Cyberlink software is older versions of every piece and it does ask you to purchase those newer versions. It is still usable without issues, but if you're going to include software with something I think it should be the latest version.

Perfect for those machines without optical drives
||Posted . Owned for 4 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. What's to say, it's an external Blu-ray writer that's super thin and super easy to use. Connects with 2 USB connections, so watch out for that. Not 100% if both are needed to make it work. Comes with really great software to create disks, etc. Works like a charm to read and write disks. Love this device, highly recommend.

This exactly why I shop at Best Buy
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I hate to say it but this is the reason I shop at best buy. If you want something new and crazy that nobody has and that you have to figure out on your own (even without the employee's knowing about it), best buy is it. I have always wanted something so i can figure it out. When hooking your computer to your tv hdmi wasn't very popular. I wanted to figure out how to do it. I had to be one of the first out of my friends to do it. Before all the apps to watch TV on your computer I was streaming TV through my computer through media center with a TV turner and graphics card bought from best buy. And I was just a poor college student. But I had a 15 inch Tv with recorded dvr programs from my windows media center. With two light scribe internal dvd drives that I bought straight from bestbuy. Now in 2017 I wanted to restart myself where I haven't been in 11 years. So I picked up this LG blu ray burner and software. I was really impressed with how cyberlink looked. I had cyberlink back in 2006 in my college years as well as nero. I loved nero much better. But I'm impressed with this version of cyber link. There are some issues with this blu ray player. First my computer is a 2008 hp. So I had to get a 500 watt power supply, amd 450 graphics card to handle these graphics. But once I play the blu ray, i hate the fact it won't let me use my mouse. Completely void of it. And yes i have an 80 dollar mouse bought from bestbuy. But it comes with a screen version of a mouse. When I'm about to start the movie after the box about the mouse comes on, another comes up saying that the graphics of my computer aren't supported by ratio so it wants to change it. I click no. Some reason when I click yes it slows down and doesn't work. So I click no. I could imagine why. But its annoying to even click that. And i have a 55 inch samsung TV 7100 series so i'm impressed with my TV. Once again it took a lot of things for this blu ray player to work on my computer that most people would not even have. I must say a good thing is the thing worked right away. Unlike the graphics card and other things, the software didn't give me a headache. If you want to watch blu rays on your computer this is it. I haven't hooked this up to a TV yet. So if you wanted to know about how that will work you have to read another review. I'm not sure if I'm more impressed with LG or best buy but either way if I need something advanced for my computer I can't go wrong with either.

Great Product, short cable
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It works great as a DVD, CD, and Bluray player. The only complaint is that it the cord is really short and when I checked the manual from LG is said that the cable was mini-usb to usb-a Y splitter when it was actually micro-usb not mini. I would strongly recommend getting a micro-usb to usb-a cord if you want to put it anywhere other than right on top of your computer (It can play CDs/DVDs with just a micro-usb to usb-a cord, but I don't think it can burn them with only 1 usb-a connection, but I haven't tested that as I only use it to play)

Best (Buy) compact disk player EVER
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love this Disc Player, plays hundreds of my compact Disk Movie titles, my disc inscribed instructions/warranty info and I can write, edit and re-write on blank discs to create my own CD content, and it plays both regular and Blu-ray formatted discs, again, I say "I Love It!!" You will too.

Can rip 4K UHD Blu-Rays!
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This unit unusually uses two USB-A ports (power and data), but otherwise does what it says on the tin. It also can run modified firmware to unlock 4K/UHD Blu-Ray discs. Can't argue with that functionality! Definitely prefer the tray loading drive to a slot loader.

Great Bluray Drive
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I miss Bluray drives for PC. I’m not completely sold with the disc-less computers out there. This little unit handles everything perfectly!

No other choice
||Posted . Owned for 8 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This blue ray player works great with PC. Only defect is the plug in USB on the player can break & your left with an expensive brick. Other then that works great.

Great Burner, A Bit Loud, Older Software
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The burner itself is great, though it is a bit loud for watching movies. You also may need two (2x) USB-A (full-sized) connectors to run the drive depending on the power output of your computer. It comes with a Y-cable to allow this to work, but not all computers have two of those ports anymore. The Cyberlink PowerDVD version it comes with is pretty old and lacking. Beyond that, the drive is great.

Live it
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Love it. I can use it with both of my computers and my smart tv. Even my iPad Pro works with it. It's simple and small which makes it very portable which is great for me since I am a student and always on the go. Used it to watch a movie while on my commute to school and it worked great. Just wish it had a longer cable as I have to set it precariously on the edge of my flatscreen when connecting to the tv

Decent but noisy
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.A bit noisy seems to work okay on a Mac M3 MacBook Air have yet to test it with burning a Blu-ray disc plays movies just fine some discs are not legible though I do not know if it's because I am on a Mac or or what but it was able to burn a entire DVD in about 40 minutes which is not too bad

Quality, Performance, and Style
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The LG Bluray Disc is perfect to complete the task, the slim style allows me to place it anywhere I need. It was an instant addition to my new iMac 4k, which didn't come with and disc reader. LG is a reliable name and performance matches the ease, Plug and Play. Remember it also writes, the best of ALL worlds. With a 4K 27 inch monitor I didn't want to skimp on the quality of output to the screen, don't go back words for a few dollars.

Great multi format drive
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Works well with windows as well as Mac OSX (tested with Sierra). Plug and play for both and in both instances didn't have to use the second USB for extra power (mileage may vary). There is a little hum to it like all these portable drives that aren't 10lbs have, but tolerable for the convenience this provides. As with mac tradition, the physical drive button will not function without dragging the disc to the trash first; but works when you have it plugged into a PC -- so accommodates both environments well.

Fine external drive
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Works fine. Not any louder than any other drive I have used. Fast and easy to use. Plug and play right out the box. Extremely light and portable. My only complaint is having to use both my USB ports for power. I only have two on my laptop so I had to get a Bluetooth mouse in order to have full functionality.
