This item works great..plug and play makes it really easy. I was looking into replacing the internal DVD/CD burner/player in my all-in-one, found this and decided to give it a try. I'll probably eventually replace the internal one, but this one is very handy. Does exactly what I need done.

So glad I have this, perfect while traveling and wanting to pop in a dvd.

It works! Easy install, is not large so it fit on my small desk.

I got this on sale for $20 because I needed to read some CDs on a MacBook Pro that didn’t have a CD Drive. I plugged the USB connector into the hub and it appeared on my desktop. No drivers or updates needed. The drive is made of plastic with a white indicator light. It works fine and does the job.

This works great to supplement my pc that has no built in cd/dvd drive since I have a lot of media in that format still. Sometimes it starts spinning for no reason without a disk in it but it works well.

great drive if you rarely need a dvd drive for your laptop, and you don't want to spend much money. the drive can also be connected directly to your tv without a computer to play dvd movies. it's all plastic, so you'll need to be careful when you throw it in your bag, but a plus is that it adds very little weight. it meets my needs as a backup drive and since it's powered by your USB port, I keep it in my travel bag with a few blank dvd discs.

This DVD/CD drive is great for those who just want to watch some old school discs with their lightweight laptops that doesn't come with that feature. It's a bit disappointing that in order to have a thin and lightweight laptop, you'd lose the feature of watching DVDs on your laptop. However, with this gadget, it's no longer impossible.

I have a PC that does not have a DVD drive installed. I had to load some old software from a CD. I took a chance and visited Best Buy in hopes of snagging an external DVD drive with USB connection. WaLa! I was shown the LG 8x External USB Double-layered DVD +- RW/CD-RW Drive - Black, and feel in love. A purchase from heaven.

Since laptops and most computers don’t come with these anymore, this is the perfect solution. Easily share between laptop and desk computers without any software to upload. Slower than the dvd drive in my old desktop, but it gets the job done. Great price for deal of the day.

I purchased the LG - 8x External USB Double-Layer DVD±RW/CD-RW Drive to transfer music from CDs to my computer's music library, to burn my own CDs, and to watch DVDs with. In all of these applications it works very well. This little machine does everything I need it to with no problems. An affordable, basic tool. I highly recommend it.

LG external USB optical disc drive works out of the box. Automatically recognized by Windows 11.

I wouldnt say its awesome as I have not had much to compare with. It's great that Best Buy carries an affordable versions. Sometimes technology just moves ahead too fast and you need an old school drive. Theyve gotten the price down to pocket money and that is a relief .
