This DVD/CD drive is great for those who just want to watch some old school discs with their lightweight laptops that doesn't come with that feature. It's a bit disappointing that in order to have a thin and lightweight laptop, you'd lose the feature of watching DVDs on your laptop. However, with this gadget, it's no longer impossible.

Item was great to burn basic dvds. Item was used with a Mac and was plug and play. Great item for cheap price.

I have used the device to read data CDs, DVDs, and burn video CDs with no issues. Seems very quick.

I purchased the LG - 8x External USB Double-Layer DVD±RW/CD-RW Drive to transfer music from CDs to my computer's music library, to burn my own CDs, and to watch DVDs with. In all of these applications it works very well. This little machine does everything I need it to with no problems. An affordable, basic tool. I highly recommend it.

Previously had always had an internal drive but this is very convenient, quiet and easy to use.

I bought this for my son’s birthday because it was at the top of his wish list. He really likes it. Says it is very fast and has plenty of room for his backups for 3 computers and still has room for his video collection. The price was very good as well.

Good product, works well with all my computers. I tried to use it with a smart TV without any luck. Great for the price, would buy it again.

I got this on sale for $20 because I needed to read some CDs on a MacBook Pro that didn’t have a CD Drive. I plugged the USB connector into the hub and it appeared on my desktop. No drivers or updates needed. The drive is made of plastic with a white indicator light. It works fine and does the job.

Had to get this because my laptop didn't have an internal CD/DVD player. This was on sale and the associate recommended it. There was an issue in the beginning because it would not recognize any disc. I was going to return it and decided to stop by the geek squad with the reader and my laptop. The associate did a quick software download for free (said it was better than software that comes with it,) and it worked perfectly. It is small so I can put it in my laptop bag without adding a lot of weight or bulk.

This cd/dvd player works as designed. Most small computers do not come with a cd/dvd player and an external is required to view cd/dvds. This player is small, lightweight and has performed well.

This item works great..plug and play makes it really easy. I was looking into replacing the internal DVD/CD burner/player in my all-in-one, found this and decided to give it a try. I'll probably eventually replace the internal one, but this one is very handy. Does exactly what I need done.

A handy basic portable disc drive. Good for disc duplication as well as pulling data off old CDs and DVDs. Can play DVDs with help of an app, but you're better off using the one on your TV.
