Excellent inexpensive DVD writer

Worked just fine right out of the box, just plug and play.. Note: Many reviews I read warned of LG's glitchy software, so I didn't even bother installing what came with the unit. No problem, the Samsung recognized the DVD unit and it works just fine. (BTW, since Windows no longer handles DVDs very well, just install the free media player from VLC.)

Connects to both my laptops with out any issues.

OLD school optical drive for my DVDs and CDs

It's great that Best Buy carries an affordable versions. Sometimes technology just moves ahead too fast and you need an old school drive. Theyve gotten the price down to pocket money and that is a relief .

My only critique is the length of the included cable. However, I'm sure you have a usb extension laying around. It's not a statement piece. You forget it's on your desk. There's no shiny pieces (PERFECT). It's just a device that works when you want it to, and doesn't stick out when not in use.
