This drive operates as expected. It connected just fine to my computer and played and ripped the cd to my desktop with no issues. I did not care for the included software, so I used a free app from the Microsoft store to use it as a DVD player. It played the movie just fine as well.

The laptop I purchased does not have a disk drive. I purchased this one to allow me to access my extensive collection of training videos. Windows 10 does not come with an application for viewing or reading the disks, but there are many drivers available on the internet, some are free others to be purchased. It has performed well for me without any problems.

Plug and play and easy to use. Did not take up hardly any space on desk.

The device functions as expected and as needed. Be warned: media driver software is not included! You need to search for the software and download it to make the device work. I downloaded VLC Media Player (free) on recommendation from another customer review and the DVD player works fine. Had the required s/w been automatically downloaded to the device upon first use I would have given a 5-star rating.

Its unfortunate that the new laptops do not include a cd drive anymore.Works as it should and came on time!

since many laptops don't have a DVD burner the rep offered me this USB external disk drive have Roxio Suite as soon as I plug it in Windows recognizes thee drive it updated as soon as i plugged it in and burns and is accurate came with its own suite of drivers and software for $20 dollars money well spent

This DVD RW drive worked straight out of the box and did not require any software to begin burning CDs. Others I had purchased required downloads and special programs to use. Very good quality and would buy again.
