Functions as needed but have to download software

You need to search for the software and download it to make the device work. I downloaded VLC Media Player (free) on recommendation from another customer review and the DVD player works fine. Had the required s/w been automatically downloaded to the device upon first use I would have given a 5-star rating.

Great DVD Writer

It is a life saver because, it allows me to retrieve old files off of failing disk and locate them in other file locations where they can be used as needed.
