Got this onsale and kept tucked away until needed. Powers up and works just fine via usb. I didn’t bother installing any of the software. Windows recognizes the drive for data access.

Does it’s job well

I plugged it in the usb and it just worked. I didn’t have to check specs or my model of processor or windows. Great for the grab n go or replacement purposes. Also read very old burned cd’s and 90’s games like pitfall!

It's working to view all our old cds with pictures and videos. It didn't overheat after 2 hours of use. It's easy to plug in and set up. It's great, it's what we need.

We ended up purchasing this one because we got a special price for it because we purchased the computer at the same time. Even at the regular price, it was reasonable and we have had no problems with it. It's easy to use and we just had to plug it in!!

It allows me to watch DVDs (and listen to CDs) instead of streaming. As I have 700+ DVDs of classic films and television shows, and don't own a television, this is important to me.

I was a bit concerned because it was inexpensive, but it fired right up as soon as I plugged it in and it does a great job! Since newer PC's don't often have a CD/DVD player, this allows me to watch old movies, etc., I'd stored to DVD's, etc. A good investment and highly recommend it!
