I am not sure if I even need to download the software for it to work. It feels well build and sturdy not flimsy plastic material. It reads and writes CDs at decent speed.

It is a great external drive for any computer, now that most laptops to not come with one. I highly recommend this if an external DVD drive or DVD writer is needed.

External DVD/CD drive by LG

I haven't tried it out enough to give a real good review. BUT-the associate at Best Buy was great in helping me to choose this over other DVD/CD external drives when I bought my most recent laptop, as almost all laptops now do not have the DVD/CD drives installed. Should work okay though. LG makes excellent products and this should serve me well

LG DVD Player

It was totally worth the inexpensive price. I use it for burning and I’ve put it though it’s paces. I’ve had no issues at all. Don’t bother installing the software that comes with it. It’s a total waste of time.
