Kind of concerned that it wouldn’t perform well when using to download a CD software program. But it did so effortlessly!

This one has the same software and won't work with the windows 10 update. You can purchase a software package or real player but the software that comes with the drive is no longer supported. If you don't have a drive and want to buy a program this will work for you. The drive is inexpensive.

Most new compact laptops have eliminated the CD drive in order to save spave and weight. This easily portable LG drive fills that void inexpensively and efficiently.

I was unable to find a computer with a internal cd drive. My wife still likes cds to play on a CD player and this external CD player/writer does the job. I also use a cd to do my taxes.

I have several older games on cd/DVD, and I needed a drive to install them. This works great for installing and running the games, plug and play. I have also used it on my mac too! same plug and play without issues.

I have many cd's and love to play them. I'm happy that i can play the cd's when it's a time that computer's don't have the cd/dvd player built inside.
