This was the least expensive one I could find in stock. It did the job and my trainer was happy with it.

It's difficult that laptops tend to no longer have a CD drive, but understandable why they don't. There weren't any options at BB when I bought this. Only issue I've had is that sometimes it doens't want to open after I've transferred files from a CD to the computer. Normally I've had to disconnect it from the laptop and re-connect it to remedy the problem. I'm sure there's better options out there.

Easy set up just plug it in, it comes with a CD-Rom to set it up but I didn't need it. I originally got it for my new 2019 MacBook Pro 16" , but then I decided to use it with my old 2010 iMac since the cd/dvd drive stopped working years ago. I just use it to watch dvds,

Good External DVD for the Price.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased the USB External DVD RW/CD-RW for the sole purpose of being able to watch movies on my laptop, now that many of the new laptops aren't including DVD players, because of streaming. It works great, but you must know that DVD Player software is necessary also. It's not just plug and play. That is why I also bought PoweDVD 18 Ultra software.
