Works great. Could not beat the price. I was unable to find a computer with a internal cd drive. My wife still likes cds to play on a CD player and this external CD player/writer does the job. I also use a cd to do my taxes.

I have only used this to download some program CD's that I use frequently. I have not used it to play a DVD or CD, but I am very happy with this purchase. I bought a new laptop that did not have a built-in DVD/CD disc, so an external one will have to work.

awesome product.. my previous DVD drive was not playing older DVD's with some scratch on the disks. However this new DVR player plays ALL those DVD's without any hiccup. Highly recommend!!

Easy to install. Works as expected at a good price.

I needed to purchase an external DVD drive since the gaming computer I bought did not have one. The salesperson at Best Buy suggested I buy the LG-8x External USB Double-Layer DVD+-Rw/CD-RW Drive. It just so happened to be the cheapest of the external drives and it has worked perfectly for my applications.

This is a very thin and compact DVD drive. I like that it has a microUSB connector rather than the miniUSB my older portable drives have, making it more compatible with the cables I typically carry in my bag. Performance is OK, but a few of my other drives are noticeably faster (even though they are older). Not a big deal for me because the price of this drive was quite reasonable when I bought it on sale.

This is a great compact CD/DVD RW at a budget price!

Works very well for its' purpose in this age of no DVD drive laptops. Highly recommend if the capabilities fit you purpose.

I hadn't purchased a new PC in over 10 years. Finding out that disc drives are a thing of the past led me to buying this LG unit. So far this super thin disc drive is just what I need to plany/Rip & Burn disc. No problems have surfaced.

For the price this item is reasonable and does the job. Like all of todays electronics I find it a bit flimsy.

Easy to connect and use. Works perfectly. I needed something to review old CDs without a permanent change to my computer and this was the answer.

Love my new laptop. It replaces my desktop and like that it takes up little room and that it’s portable.

I like that the cd holder is portable and can sit by the computer. I have many cd's and love to play them. I'm happy that i can play the cd's when it's a time that computer's don't have the cd/dvd player built inside.

No bells and whistles. Just a real functional LG external USB DVD/RW/CD-RW Drive. Plays movies. Plays CDs. and DVDs. It copies/burns software or whatever you wish to burn. Can't speak on it's durability since it's just been a few weeks of use. Will update on that in about 12 to 18 months later. But for now, a definite recommend.
