    This unit does read my CD discs I have not tried DVD nor have I tried the write process. I was frustrated that there were no written instructions. I was able to figure out what to do when I inserted the disc included and figured out what option to select. Once done, everything seemed to go well.

    My laptop internal DVD drive failed as diagnosed by my GEEK squad agent, so I purchased the LG external DVD drive that works perfectly. If I ever need to purchase a new laptop, I will already have the required external DVD drive, so I am doubly pleased.Pleased
