This DVD/CD drive is very convenient. Since most laptops nowadays don't come with DVD/CD drives & you need to burn a CD or a DVD, this is the perfect item. Not to mention, it's affordable. Just to be on the safe side, not a bad idea to have. Last, but not least... it's plug & play.

Works well exactly a described. Plugged it into my computer and it worked well playing and burning CDs. I bought it as a back-up in case I needed it for my next laptop which probably won't have a DVD/CD drive.

Just upgraded our computer and it doesn't have a cdrom. Well I still have a bunch of them so I found this at best buy and it solved the issue.

LG-8x external USB double-layer DVD+RW/CD-RW Drive was installed by Geeksquad tech. It is easy to use and works great. Used to upload game(s) to ASUS desktop; view reports and pictures stored on CDs.

I was disappointed when I learned laptops no longer had CD drives and thought an external drive would be lots of additional $$. Not only was it very reasonable, but it's very easy to use -- and when it's not it use, takes up very little space. Works exactly the way a DVD drive on a computer would work.

I purchased a HP desktop and did not know it did not have a cd rom for the cd programs. So I purchased this. Like it and easy to use. Just wish the usb cord was longer so I could put in on my desk.

I picked the DVD player so I could load a disc for my taxes. It’s quite the plug and play. It was very easy to use. Also, it came with the cord to plug directly into my laptop. Looking forward to try using it for movies.

kinda shocking that most pcs and laptops don't have any external media players available (except for the cardslots). This does the trick perfectly... got some old exercise DVDs or the like and need a player? Here is the perfect, inexpensive, plug'n'play way to keep from having to throw the media you have away!

This is a great, compact drive that still comes in handy though technology has continued to evolve. You can't go wrong with this purchase at this price point!
