Great Drive so far
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I guess I'm old, but I still like buying physical media when I purchase music, so when I moved from an 11 year-old desktop to a new laptop without a CD drive, I needed something to rip my CDs for listening on-the-go. This drive has performed great for that purpose. Haven't used it's writing capabilities, so I can speak to those.

Good for ultralight notebooks like Carbon X1

Lets see how long it lasts. I use this for police body camera videos which can be hard to play. I have purchased 2 similar products on amazon and they did not work. I am glad I was finally able to get one that works. This player works with Windows 10 as many do not. I have not tried to burn any discs with this product.

great for CDs and DVDs, but not BlueRay disks.

This external one connects and is powered through a standard USB port for those few instances where you need one. The only drawback is a lack of BlueRay support, but at the low price that is to be expected.
