Since the computer manufacturers chose to eliminate CD/DVD drives from laptops, this external drive is a helpful addition. Reads at good speed. Lightweight and low profile allows it to fit in laptop case easily.

Got this to have a CD/DVD device for our HP Spectre laptop. it seems to work fine, and one would be hard pressed to beat the price. It has the usual CyberLink CD/DVD software bundled with. I have also tested it with a USB-C "hub" - both HP's and a third party hub, and it seems to work fine.

Small dvd drive, easy-to-use. convenient for travel.

I needed a USB DVD for a decent price and did a search on Best Buy's web site. This one came back with sufficient specs and within my price range. The purchase online-store pickup option was available so I was able to get it in a few hours. One of its best features is it can burn Double Layer (DL) DVD's without waiting a lifetime

The person I bought it for loves how easy it is to operate and how easy of a set up is for a person who isn’t very tech savvy.

I was disappointed when I was unable to get a laptop with an internal DVD/CD drive. Decided to take a chance on the LG and was pleasantly surprised. The laptop recognized it right away and all my old fashioned software loaded without a hitch.

Works great. just what I needed for my home videos that were moved to DVD's. Now that most pc's don't have internal drives anymore, this did the trick and I was able to watch the videos.

This has performed extremely well. Of the 5 computers in the house 4 have used this. Computers don't often come with onboard CD/DVD drives so this is handy and cheaper than equipping each computer with it's own onboard unit. It has been dropped a few times yet it marches merrily on.

This is definitely one of those necessary and worthy purchases in my opinion with everything going digital, it's hard to find a computer with a disk drive. This is why I bought this and it reads the disc with ease and efficiency!

Just what I needed, for a great price. I needed it to utilize an existing embroidery disc collection.

I love the fact I am able to import my music on Itunes which I lost when someone hacked my account. I love to listen to my cd's as I enjoy.

So far it works well for reading cd/dvd/gaming discs as my computer didn't have a disc drive. It does feel super light and almost flimsy especially when putting a disc in, time will tell how long this holds up. It's basic, wish it didn't pop out to put your disc in, feels old school, i wish i could have found one that you were able to just insert, but this will suffice.

Reasonably priced and works well. Easy to install.

Great for reading Cds. Easy to learn how to use...

I got this to rip a bunch of my old CDs with, since I haven’t had a computer with an optical drive since - well, I can’t remember (can you?). The big worry with a buy like this is - gosh it seems so cheap, is it going to be klugey? No worries friends. Super easy, plug and play, gets the job done and no hassles.

New laptops tend not to have optical drives, so you will need one of these if you want to convert physical media to digital, like putting your albums in iTunes. It feels pretty flimsy, but so far it's getting the job done. I have to use the "eject" button within my OS to get it to open when there's media in it.
