This CD drive is sufficient for all of your disc requirements. Since they don’t seem to put these in the computers any longer it just makes sense to have one on the shelf for when you need it. Plugged it into my MacBook and I was reading CDs right away. No need to buy more expensive versions in my opinion it does its job just fine.

I like the small footprint and how quiet it operates.

As most laptops nowadays have deleted the optical drive from the device, you need an external one if you have disks that you want to access on your computer. This external drive does the job and does it at a reasonable price. Has held up fine since purchase.

I have only used this drive one time so far but it worked very smoothly. I feel that it was a good buy for the price.

When the internet goes does, I can plug this device into a tv, tab, or laptop and watch a favorite movie. I should be to use it make hard copies on disc to safe digital information. I think might be able to a few other things, but I haven't had much time to work on those others things yet.

Every time you need to use it again after it sits awhile, you have to unplug & replug it from the back for it to work again. I have two of them, and both of them operate the same way! That's not good.

I purchased this because laptops nowadays don't come with DVD drives. Once in a blue moon need a DVD drive to either repair a computer or to play some movies on my laptop for the kids. This drive works as it should and did not need any additional drivers installed for my laptop to detect it.

Works fantastic. Burns discs quickly in iTunes. Easy setup and very portable.

Only thing I would have liked is a heavier design but that is personal preference and the actual drive itself works great. I have noticed a shift with the prebuilt gaming computers not adding them preinstalled which is a plus if you can fit extra peripherals in the area. Just remember to purchase this external optical.

Good quality player. Easy to plug in and set up. My only issue was the box, it doesn’t show what type of connections or cords come with it. More info on the box would help out a lot.

Great price, purchased on Deal of the day. Easy set up just plug in with provided USB and you're ready to go. Current All-in-one setup has no disk drive, this was perfect for some programs I still had on disks.

I was a little disappointed, No instructions came with it. In my opinion it is cheaply made. It works but I'm still trying to figure out how to use it properly.

When my internal CD Drive went on the fritz, I turned to an easy to connect (USB Port) quality external drive for my back-up needs. This was a very good product that met all my needs, and at a very fair price. When not in use, I simply unblug it from my computer and place it in the drawer.

If your computer lacks the ability to read multiple formats, this a great solution for $40 Bucks. It really is a plug & play unit and has read everything I have thrown at it thus far. Very simplistic and to the point....!!!

I bought this because the gaming PC I bought didn’t come with an internal optical drive or even a place to mount one. This drive works just as well as a SATA drive and was well worth the price. It was super easy to set up since all you have to do is plug it in and Windows 10 recognizes it.
