The quality of the USB drive appears to have integrity. However, the software included from Cyberlink is not as good as the current Windows Media player. It costs an additional upgrade of a $100 to get something for more extensive work.

It's crazy that most modern computers no longer have optical disc drives. Fortunately this external drive helps address that. Didn't realize how much we would miss having an optical drive until we couldn't rip the first CD we'd bought in years. Works like a charm, and it's plug and play!

I am so happy with this piece of equipment. The moment I took it out of the box I know this is what every one a must have in their list. Installation is easy and budget friendly! Easy to use and CD/DVD burning was really quick!

I have a Lenovo Laptop for work and it does not have a CD/DVD Burner and I was required to submit as-built drawings on a disk, I bought the LG 8x External as a complement to my laptop and now I utilize it almost daily for record document submissions. Extremely fast and I have had zero errors on all platforms.

Love that I can still use my CD programs. This unit works really well, and is very easy to connect to the computer.

I bought this DVD drive because all of the computers you buy these days do not have DVD drives built into them. I know that you can write and burn things to CDs using this, but I mostly bought it to watch movies and possibly play old computer games. It's a nice plug-and-play device that can be picked up by your computer as soon as you plug it in for the first time. However, don't bother using the software they provide with the disc, as it's just a demo disc and most of the features that you would want (like playing a DVD) are behind a paid service. I had better luck just finding free DVD-compatible software on the Microsoft store and using that. If you want to use this to burn and write to discs, I imagine the software included would be worth the purchase but it's not what I need. Overall, a good purchase!

I needed to retrieve some old files after I bought a new computer and this worked perfectly. I was able to get what I needed.

Great DVD burning. Very thin & small, saves a lot of space.

This works great and has an easy set up. I don't mind the length of the cord, but I could see how that could be a problem if the drive can't be on the laptop itself. Also, you can mess up the rotation of the disk with any quick movement against the drive. But again it works just as it should and I love it so much I bought two!

Bought a pc with no disk drive and this for the price worked perfect. Everyone says just download the file from the web page. But they never say that those files could be corrupt with viruses I learned the hard way so sticking the cd disks for installation from now on.

I was skeptical about this Burner,especially because it gets it power from the USB plug in, but it have surprised me. It get the job done. Doesn't seem like it's to many heavy duty external writers on the market these days. I would buy it again if I need to.
