Purchased this LG DVD player to play movies on my laptop. Plugged into my USB and was recognized immediately. Works as expected. Have not tried to burn anything yet. Fast delivery service from Best Buy.

Perfect I didn’t have to sacrifice certain ports for a cd/dvd rom all i had to do was plug it in usb A and can use it even on my Tv and literally on my garmin60 miles out in the ocean If my girl wants to watch a Movie…

good dvd drive good value recommended easy to use and setup

A necessary purchase for any modern laptop. I know why they don't have disc drives, but these should really just be incouded until physical media dies out (which is dountful to happen anytime soon). Works great and does what it needs to do.

Since the DVD system is no longer built into computers, this was a must needed item to have.

This little baby burned songs with no problems. I pulled out my old music CDs that haven't played forever and was able to successfully burn some of them that were badly scratched. It was about a 90% success rate with the horribly scratched ones being able to still burn. CDs that would never ever play in my car, or on any other CD players anymore! Now I can relive old memories hearing these old songs/deep cuts that I haven't heard forever, while riding my motorcycle! I burned close to 1,000 songs from about 150-200 CDs successfully. I highly recommend this CD burner!

Purchased this reader on Black Friday because of the price. Most of software that I purchase these days doesn’t come on physical media, nor did the laptops I recently published come with dvd drives. In the rare occasion that software comes on a dvd, I have this drive.

This optical reader is a nice to have in times where laptops don't have CD/DVD drives anymore. Some content (like music) is still distributed via CDs (usually higher quality than streaming services) and backing up this content is good practice. The device itself is doing the job. Didn't write/"burned" CDs with it yet

This works very well, especially when you can find it. I spend more time looking for this thing than I do using it. I’d like to blame the product for this, but I’m afraid I can’t. maybe I should ask the ‘president’ about blame shifting. I bet he’d figure it out.

Product is perfect for the gamers who need the internal space for large CPU coolers GPU’s with multiple fans and cables, etc. External plug and play makes it easy to use CD’s required for installations and afterwards just disconnect until needed.

I was in need of an ipad. My son has autism and is non-verbal. His service coordinator and myself felt this would be of help to him with communication. I explained this to the clerk and he was helpful in finding what we needed.

I just wanted a drive to plug and play. That’s exactly what the LG USB DVD did for me. I was more than pleased.

This unit works great when you can get over its one issue...the connector. The MicroUSB port on this is hard to use and must be pressed firmly into place...so firmly you feel you might break it. Other than that it is very fast and works great.

What can I say? This little drive was purchased a while ago and is still going strong! It is a great value for a person who really needs a portable external drive for their PC or laptop.

This item was exactly what I wanted, and it is working Great so far. Also, the price was a good deal!

I use a MacBook Pro 13" w/Touch Bar for my day-to-day activities, and a Windows computer at work. This external DVD drive works without a hitch on both platforms. Best of all? It doesn't require any drivers. It's just a matter of plugging it into a USB port and putting a DVD/CD inside. Couldn't get easier!

I've always used the internal DVD/CD drive. But I like the external it seems to work better. Less noisy, and it's slim and fits under my HP all in one.
