The LG-8X External USB Double-Layer DVD+RW/CD_RW Drive is a great little unit for a Laptop. Glad I have it when I need it. I would recommend it to anyone without a dvd/cd drive. It works great with my LG.

This was a relatively cheap DVD drive and good quality for the price. No complaints so far.

This is very nice and compact DVD/R/RW disc writer, and as an external USB device, the drivers set up okay, and I suppose quickly. But didn't notice any delays for my PC to recognize it. I noticed particularly how quickly it responds to the open button in front as well as the eject command from the PC.

This is the best option as far as a DVD/CD drive. My new computer doesn’t have one, so the DVDs that I use for my kids were not able to be used. This product helped with that problem.

Bought a computer without a DVD player...which seems to be the norm. I like to play DVD's and have a large archive on DVD's that I am transferring to an external drive. So far this LG is doing a great job in keeping up with all the open and close I put it through.

Works as advertised. Plug - N- play, no software needed.

I purchased this for my Mac mini and it was perfect. The drive was easily recognized and it performed flawlessly. I was able to load the software with no issues. Since I only needed it to download files it has been disconnected and stored for future use. I may break it out again and attempt to burn files to DVD.

This is a great product for the price. It runs very smoothly.

Fewer laptops are coming with a dvd drive, as everything is going digital. But there are still those of us who use discs. When I bough my new laptop, this little drive allowed me to continue using discs. Just plug it up, insert disc, and proceed doing what you wanted to do.

I have only used this drive one time so far but it worked very smoothly. I feel that it was a good buy for the price.

Purchased this because most laptops do not have CD/DVD drives. We have some software on disks to load onto a new laptop. Connects easily via USB to new HP laptop and were able to install without a problem. Speed was not an issue either. I've yet to burn anything, but do not expect poor performance.

Easy to use Value okay no actual instructions included

Looking at other options I decided to pick this one. It works with my Macbook pro and mini as well as Windows computers. It connected without a hitch and no external installations/programs needed.

Nice cd / dvd write. Very smooth and easy to use. Good to have one like everyone.

So few computers nowadays have a built in DVD/CD drive or even a spot to install one. Some of us like to use such a drive for various reasons so this is a quick and easy solution. This drive works great and is easy to use and easy to store away when not in use.

The new laptop I had purchased did not have a CD/DVD player. This works great, is small, lightweight & easily portable, plus being very reasonably priced. Simple, easy to use, no complicated instructions, both plays and records. It met my needs perfectly.

Just what I needed, for a great price. I needed it to utilize an existing embroidery disc collection.
