I needed a replacement for a drive that just wore out. So far this LG drive fits the bill. I mainly use it for archiving my old music CD collection. Everything works as advertised, and does not need any additional power connections - a welcome feature over the one it replaced.

In these times where no longer are DVD players built into computer, this is a good one for those still needing one. Small and lightweight.

I bought this because the tower I bought did not have a DVD player. It works very well. I like the fact that I could buy this much cheaper than what it would have cost to upgrade to a more expensive tower.

I bought this for my grandma new laptop but the laptop already had a cd drive in it. Which was awesome because most laptops and desk tops don't come with a drive anymore. I got this so she can watch her dvd movies on her laptop. she didn't need it so we keep it as a back up

This is the second version of this drive I have purchased. The only reason I needed a new one was because I had just upgraded to a new computer and the old version wasn’t compatible. These are so easy to use. Pretty much just plug in and go about your business. Couldn’t get much simpler.

Works as expected on my Mac, have not used with a Windows PC but I’m sure that would be fine too.

Typical external hard drive that I purchased because my new laptop doesn't have a drive in it. Works as expected. I have never had any issues with LG products; they make quality stuff.
