Great product, does everything it says and works very well

My new laptop has no cd drive! I wasnt even aware when I purchased it! I went right to best buy and got this LG 8x External Double layer cd /dvd drive and bam...its great! plugs directly into the side of my laptop and works wonderfully! LOVE!

When I was looking for a new HP laptop I was a little surprised to see that it had no DVD drive, but it was great to find out that Best Buy had a very affordable USB DVD drive option that was readily available and has turned out to be a very effective tool over the last year.

Unfortunately, my computer didn't come with a disc drive. This one happened to be on sale and is working fine thus far. I don't understand why they just can't continue to have drives on towers. Only inconvenience is having to hold it to put a disc in it.

Works well, Easy to use, I can play my many CDs while browsing on my laptop.

Got this on sale over a year ago at a great deal, so far no issues since then.

Great for the price! Had a new laptop and never thought I needed a dvd player but I really use it all the time now!

I have an older windows 7 pc that I use for my crafting projects. The CD drive quit working on it and I have many programs that use a CD while running them. This purchase saved me having to get all new programs and learn them.

It was perfect! Just what I needed. An external hard drive that would play instructional DVD’s. Saved my life as I prepared for my tests.

I don't use it super often but it works and it's cheap. So it's nice to have for most modern computers that don't come with a disc drive anymore.

I purchased this DVD drive (very affordable) at the recommendation of the Best Buy tech rep who I found to be very knowledgeable. I connected to my laptop and loading the enclosed CD which then loaded all of the required software (no problems). I have yet to use it however.

I use this drive on my Mac. Easy Plug & Play, use it to transfer all my CD’S to my Mac…transfers music very quickly. Can’t beat the price !

I purchased this after reading other reviews on tech websites because my new computer did not contain an internal dvd player. It was an easy matter of plugging it in and setting it up for my different uses. It continues to perform very well after 9 months in use.

nothing earth shattering here, just works (with windows)

I loved it. It solved many problems I have with my light weight laptop and small desk. So now, my printer, flashdrive, table lamp, and fan all my supporting devices are woorking great.

I use this external drive as i no longer have a PC with DVD drive. It has made it possible to read and save a lot of old files.

I've had 3 different external CD drives in the past 12 years----and this is by far the best. Very easy to set up (just plug in)! The CD holder slides in and out easily (something that's usually a problem with other drives. Highly recommended.
