I had to purchase this as my new laptop no longer comes with an internal drive. This is a backup for when I need a disc drive. It works plug-n-play so no complaints. Easy to use and store when not in use.

Simple device and does not require a separate power cord. Funny fact: BestBuy does not sell blank CDs -- had to go to Staples for those.

I needed an inexpensive disc drive to rip couple of cds to my computer. Everything worked as supposed to.

Good !!! The drive itself performs to my expectations. I took away 1 star because of the usb cord. It's permanent and only about 8" long so if you want it longer you will have to buy a usb extension cord. Other than that everything is on par with a good solid internal drive.

Used this to convert some digital recordings to a CD for a friend with an older car. Worked very well. Software that comes with it is fairly useful. The drive is fast and worked well with a new ASUS laptop. Would buy again.

I still have a lot of files on CD ROM that make this external drive excellent for new computer without a CD ROM drive. It is convenient for carrying with my computer without being overloaded with technology. It is plug and play.

the dvd player is fine, no complaints with the product. It is a little annoying though when the company keeps pushing their updated version every time Im finished with a dvd.

slim don't take much space easy to use go anywhere

Sadly, most computers today come without any form of CD or DVD drive. This one works perfectly and allows me to do what I need to for school, work, and in my personal life.

It is amazing how much better equipment is available today for a much lower price. I have not actually used it yet because I'm trying to pair it up with my pixelbook. I have seen reviews by folks who have done this, so it is on my too long bucket list.

It works great! I bought this to replace another one that I lost the software to when I changed computers. Works great to download CDs to my iTunes account and then to my iPhone to listen to in my truck or boat via Bluetooth.

just bought a new laptop that does not have a dvd drive, so this was the other option, i put it to work right away installing software to the new laptop, got a bit noisy couple of times, but it worked as supposed to. so far so good.

Bought this external disc drive for my computer because my tower doesn't have a disc drive built in to it. I was a little concerned because the device looks and feels a little flimsy in your hand at first glance. So far it's worked perfectly, though! Nothing bad to say at this point.

CD Drive on PC starting acting up so I checked with Best Buy and found this external DVD/CD Player, it works great. For the price it was better than taking the PC in for repair.

All-in-one Dell didn't come with a CD/DVD drive. This serves the purpose. Basic. It could be a little more sturdy but it's not exactly flimsy either. Good for the price point.

Great unit. Easy to use. Plug and play. Perfect to play DVDs and load software on computers that no longer have a drive built in.

very quick and easy to set up and windows 10 compatible

I needed an external reader\writer for a one-time installation and this one happened to be on sale. I am pleased to say it worked perfectly and was instantly recognized by as a CD\DVB by my motherboard and Windows 10. No fuss in setting up or external power source is needed which is a plus. It's simple and it works.
