My new laptop didn't have a CD/DVD drive because of it's capability to change from laptop/tablet. I can watch the movies that I currently own and don't have in digital format. Easy to use. Just plug and play!

I purchased this because my laptop no longer has a CD/DVD drive and I thought that this would be good for me to be able to watch Blu-rays. However, I was never able to get a Blu-ray to play, anytime I put a Blu-ray in, it would only show the files as if it was trying to write to a Blu-ray disc. However, if I put a DVD in, it would play perfectly fine. For all of that, if that was the case, I would've purchased the cheaper DVD player instead of the Blu-ray player. I asked the rep if this would play and they told me that it would. But when it didn't I thought maybe I purchased a lemon so I returned it and the next one I bought did the same thing. So this made me realize that it was the player itself. Can't give it five stars because it doesn't do what it should do in my opinion.

Bought this LG DVD writer/player for temporary replacement of internal one on my laptop. It works great. It even plays used DVDs that wouldn't read at all on original. Haven't used the writer function yet, but think it will work just as well.

Worked great for me. It was plug and play. Ripped a CD and put it on a thumb drive so I could listen to it on a small player.

This device was everything it said it was. I would recommend this to anyone. The computers today don’t come with CD/DVD drives.

I recently purchased a DVD player and card to take pics off of a nikon camera to lap top. Both items were practical and exactly what I needed. The sales people were very helpful and provided excellent information about both products!

I purchased this along with my new laptop. I only used it once so far, but it would right out of the box with simple plug-and-play functionality. If it lasts it will be a great accessory to my laptop.

Needed to get some old data that was stored on CD but got a new PC and most new PC's don't have a CD drive. Got this one and it was easy to hook up and use.

I haven't used this yet to record, but to move music from one of my CDs to my computer worked great. Not having any computers with a CD drive any longer this is a great alternative at a great price.

I purchased this external drive in order to be able to play an older game on my new computer and it works perfectly and is extremely easy to use!

Easy to use. And its good to have around. I didn't think i would use it as much as i have.

This is a must have for the times when you need to read a CD or DVD, since most current computers are not equipped with that drive.

You can use several versions of DVD blanks and RW discs as well.
