This replaced the superdrive for me on my new IMAC since apple decided to go completely to the cloud, which I won't. So I have an extensive cd collection which I can play... also I can transfer the rest of my older video collections and home movies to dvds

Bought this to use with laptop as mine didnt come with one. Very easy to install and use. Will not play Blue Ray. Took a little time to figure out how to play DVD. Video and sound quality was impressive. Would buy again

needed a DVD external drive in a pinch. As I do photography and graphic work it was needed in a hurry. Soo glad i opted for this one. It fits any budget without worry of quality not being there.

Since my new computer has no cd drive I bought this to put dvd pictures on a usb stick and it worked just fine. Plug and play makes it simple.

Had to get this for Turbo tax because the other one would not communicate with Windows 10 after my update. Seems to work well, I do not use it that much so the price was the selling point for me.

I purchased it around the time I started my Master's program. I needed something fast and affordable. I highly recommend this external drive for ripping and playing CD/DVDs.

The drive plays CDs with good clarity of sound. The device is simple to load a CD into and easy to retrieve it when one wants. It is attractive and blends well with my computer.

Bought this LG DVD writer/player for temporary replacement of internal one on my laptop. It works great. It even plays used DVDs that wouldn't read at all on original. Haven't used the writer function yet, but think it will work just as well.

I apparently haven't needed to use a CD or DVD on a computer in many years, and haven't transferred old photos/video that is stored on disc (shame on me). When a family member recently died unexpectedly, I was forced to attempt accessing old discs that were as old as 17 years. My iMac has a vertical slot, so not sure if that, plus not using it in so long, is why my discs weren't working. As a hail mary, I bought this external disc reader to see if I could save the pictures. Out of about 20 discs, I saved all but 1 disc's worth of files. Definitely worth it!

I recently purchased a DVD player and card to take pics off of a nikon camera to lap top. Both items were practical and exactly what I needed. The sales people were very helpful and provided excellent information about both products!

My new laptop didn't have a CD/DVD drive because of it's capability to change from laptop/tablet. I can watch the movies that I currently own and don't have in digital format. Easy to use. Just plug and play!

This unit is compact, light weight and has a separate USB power cord. I have used it a couple of times and I have not had any issues.

For the money this is not only a great value, but the performance exceeded my exceptions. Good things do come in little packages!!! I would recommend this product.
