Pulling data off CD's, Playing DVD's, writing DVD's. It is a plug and play device and works well for that. I had a couple times that it would not read CD's or DVD's but other drives would. Eye is more sensitive to scratches. The main problem that I encountered was that the charger port eventually broke. It has always been a weak point and finally gave out making the drive useless. I got about 18 Months of light use out of it, so take it for what it's worth. Packs Easy Works Pretty Well Sensitive to Scratches Charger port weak point
