This is an awesome product. It’s compact and quiet. It is also very easy to set up and figure out.

Nice compact size and it does its job. It's a shame that DVD's are no longer included with new systems. The device works and works well and the price was difficult to pass. Plugged in the USB cable that was supplied and we were in business.

I was surprised to discover that my new computer did not have built in disc drive. For $25, I was able to purchase a very sleek external drive that sits on top of my computer and is very easy to use. Problem solved. A salesman told me that Best Buy does not sell any computers with a built in disk drive.

Works perfect for a great price, most laptops do not come with a CD anymore this is perfect

Its just what I needed, I have many CDs that I want to use on my new HP Flip laptop. Since it doesn't have a CD drive, this external drive will let me access the CDs.

I needed a portable optical drive and this one was on sale. Works great, lite and quiet. Came with a cable.

I purchased this because I do need access to CD media from time to time while most of my devices and systems are now not equipped with a DVD/BluRay media drive. This works perfectly because it is very slender and portable and it is definitely a case of, "better to have it and not need it versus need it and not have it." It works exactly as advertised at a great price.

Great unit for a laptop that didn't come with one. Great for being on the road when no wifi or 5g is available.

Surprisingly light and sturdy, this LG external CD/DVD reader/writer was just what I needed, when I had to transfer files from my old computer to my new one. Even though it comes with a disc pre-loaded with a few programs, I had no trouble using the device without it (attaches via a standard (type A) USB cable). I have read and written text files, images, and videos, both of my own creation and from previous discs, and have checked the written ones on another computer and CD/DVD player with no issues. It is surprisingly quiet, and I appreciate the LED indicator flashing as it processes (when I watch a movie using it, I turn the unit so the LED is away from me to avoid the distraction). FWIW, I selected it for two reasons: It was half-off during a sales period, and because of the LG brand, which I have, happily, used with numerous products over the years. When not in use, I unplug it and store it in its original box.

I am in no way a tech person, but did a little homework by checking out how to install this dvd player. I try the disk that came with it and it did nothing. So I went to install VLC media player and bam I was able to watch my DVDs I really enjoyed this small lite dvd player and it does come with a cord.

Great external drive. I have used it to download songs to a cd. So far I have had no problems whatsoever.

This is small but does great for disc writing. It’s quiet and easy to use.
