My new gaming computer came without a disk drive. Because I intend to primarily use the computer as a "working" home computer I wanted the ability to load some of my programs and music. The LG external drive from Best Buy was simple to affiliate with my machine and to use to upload old programs and music. I give it high marks for simplicity, functionality, and effectiveness.

Very light. Easy to use. Works Good. Would purchase again.

The drive is fast, portable and quiet. Have enjoyed using it with my system.

When I purchased a new HP All-in-one computer I discovered that the computer did not come with a DVD or CD drive, as all of my previous computers had included. Accordingly, I bought this product separately, because I wanted the ability to play CD's and DVD's on my computer. The device came in handy immediately, because when my old apps and data was being transferred from my old computer to the new, I wanted to include the copy of Wordperfect that was on my old computer. It was an old version, which I prefer to the new version, because it is much easier to use. I still had the CD from the old version, and I was able to download it to the new computer using the external drive, which I wouldn't have been able to do if I had not bought the drive. Meanwhile, I want to play CD's and DVD's on the new computer, but I need a program to do it. Windows Media Player apparently doesn't work with DVD's, so I am reluctant to download it. I would use RealPlayer, but all of the free downloads seem to come with extra add-ons that I don't want on my computer, so I will have to keep looking.

I have multiple computers but none have a disc drive. This has worked on both platforms without any issues. It does have to be hooked up to a computer to eject the desk but why else would I need it if it wasn't? Time to load is about the same as computers with drives. Easy to understand control panel pops up on the screen. Small and light enough to carry in laptop bag.

I purchased this as a way to install my operating system on a new self built computer. Rather than building my new computer with a disc drive built in, I just use this guy as needed. It is completely portable for just about anything that has a USB connection. Super simple to use and it works flawlessly so far. Pretty great price although if you want one for BlueRay you might want to check on others.

Works as expected. Great for loading or playing media on the newer devices that do not include optical drives.

When my computer's internal DVD player crashed, this inexpensive replacement was the cheapest option, and it has worked great since I got it.

Great extetnal drive, been able to transfer all of my music onto my computer. I bought a cheaper version on amazon but it didnt work very well. Returned it and got this one instead. Im still using windows media player. The software for this one didnt work on my Windows 10 computer.

Works fine. Would recommend it to anyone that needs to burn cd's.

I have a Walmart Motile computer and it didn't have a internal/built-in disc drive. I have only used it for my music and that's about it. It is about 10x more quiet than my 2010 Toshiba Satellite A505s drive. That computers drive would kind of rattle so loud, using the LG one is way better it is quite compared to the Toshiba Plug and Play

Quickly connects via usb. Has read a few cds and a DVD, have not burned a CD/DVD yet. Excellent price.

Great portable unit. Always had a built in dvd/cd unit, but love the flexibility with this unit. Found no issues with it. Easy usb plug in. Inexpensive.

I had not used an external DVD driver before, so I thought there would have to be some sort of installation or etc. but no, this is super easy and you can basically insert the USB and start using it. Insert the DVD or CD, choose which program on your laptop you want to open it with, and go ahead. Plus, it's very lightweight which makes it easy to travel with.

I purchased a MacBook Air 13” Notebook and needed an external DVD Drive. The Salesperson highly recommend this model. I burned several Music CD’s and found this model to be easy to use and reliable. I didn’t have to load any drivers to the notebook. This model is very light and slim. Which makes life easier when traveling. Not to mention this item was on sale.
