No body puts these drives in their laptops anymore ; haven't used cd/dvd for a long time.... Then I needed one. Bought this drive ; installed easily and works great! Nice to have one available again.

Works perfectly with my windows and linux laptops. Very light so no issue carrying it.

Great buy. Most new computers don't have a DVD player so for us who tons of CD and DVD this is a must.

I had to have this since absolutely NONE of the new design laptops contain an on-board CD/DVD drive any longer. It installed easily enough and I tested it out by playing a DVD or 2, no issues. I mainly bought it to import physical CDs from my massive collection into my digital library and haven't had a chance to get to any of that yet as I've only had the device about a month. I know - who does that anymore, just stream it. Newsflash - that only works where you have ample signal and believe me there are plenty of places where that just will not work. So far so good, seems like a solid enough component.

This burner works very well, practically plug n play. I mixed a cd for a sound project and it worked flawlessly. Good choice in a burner.

This portable drive is so easy to use and was exactly what I needed at a good price.

Plug and play DVD drive for a laptop to install software from CD. Worked perfectly from the get go. No need for drivers with Windows 11. Price was very reasonable.

My newest laptop did not come with a CD/DVD drive, so I bought this to play music. All I had to do is plug it into a USB port and I was able to use Windows Media Center to play music. As simple as could be. It seems to have a little more problem playing old scratched CD's than the built-in CD player on my old laptop, but in general it works great. It comes with CyberLink software which I think can burn CDs and DVDs. Nothing for viewing DVDs however. I had to download the VLC media player (which is free). That's why I gave a 3 not a 4. My laptop with a built-in CD/DVD includes software for burning and playing CDs and DVDs.

It was priced right where it needed to make a good decision. When I got it home it works as good as an expensive one.

I needed a DVD player and the Best Buy associate ("Geek Squad") was able to provide me with this product.

Size is nice. Unit fits nicely in my laptop bag. No installation needed unit is plug and play. Good for programs that cant be downloaded.

LG - 8x External USB Double-Layer DVD±RW/CD-RW Drive - Black Model:SP80NB80 - to use with my HP Desktop computer, and it totally works awesome. Put the program CD into the drive (just push the button in front and it will open..I was able to plug it into my computer USB and downloaded an art program from its to my computer.

Since you can no longer get DVD writers in your desktops...This is an excellent option!

Slim, lightweight, and worked as expected! Makes great accessory to a small laptop without DVD/CD drive. No drivers or additional software were needed when connected to my Windows 11 laptop.
