My new laptop did not have an optical drive, which is becoming common. This little USB DVD writer, for the price (cheap!) works great and I highly recommend it for those who need either an extra one, or something to fit on their laptop that doesn't provide an optical drive. Works perfectly.

I wish they were included in the laptops, but they aren't. I don't like having a bunch of things on my desk, but the product itself is fine.

Easy to install, only downside vey short cable, but it works

Size is nice. Unit fits nicely in my laptop bag. No installation needed unit is plug and play. Good for programs that cant be downloaded.

Very happy with the CD player. It plugs into my ThinkPad laptop and plays my CDs great ! the view is wonderful and the sound is wonderful too ! I have CDs that I need to play for my College Classes and my College tutoring. Also I may need to make a CD to share !! Also I have old music CDs that I can play and down load to my computer then copy onto my phone, also I can create a great music CD with various music on them, and family can play on their computer or in car. Also, many kinds of workouts such as Kettle Bell are on CDs, and the CD player plays them well, with great view and great music, so the workout is great ! I am extremely happy with the CD player and the Best Buy Geek Squad assistance helping me choose the CD player, setting it up and making sure I knew how to use it and was happy with it !!

I've used this to play some old DVD's and it works wonderful!

I got this to copy all my DVDs to a hard drive. It works great out of the box with my windows 11 pc. Super quiet and lightweight. Seems to go on sale often.

Used this to convert some digital recordings to a CD for a friend with an older car. Worked very well. Software that comes with it is fairly useful. The drive is fast and worked well with a new ASUS laptop. Would buy again.

This is a terrific cd/dvd player. Totally plug and play with my daughter’s MacBook Air. It runs very quietly and played a Blu-ray movie perfectly with absolutely no lag. I would definitely purchase this player again over the Apple brand which cost almost three times as much.

Needed a CD RW drive, this fit the bill, works perfectly for my needs…

This is truly an awesome device, has great speed, can burn discs if needed, and helps out where you dont have a way to have a dvd drive in your desktop or laptop computer, just plugged it in and computer had no issue recognizing it, would recommend to anyone.

I worked in retail for a very long time: sales, management, operations, HR, visuals etc....not really like traditional electronics but like high end culinary and kitchen electronics like pressure cookers etc...coffee makers etc...and I found out the following recently: that if you purchase and read reviews of inexpensive like type items of the really expensive stuff..you will get a really great product for a lesser amount. And if you take care of it it will last a very long time and do the job 99.99% as well as the super expensive item. Also, if you know who is going into your home and not messing around with your stuff..the item will last even longer. This item I bought works just as great as the more expensive item.

I purchase this because my husband has old CDs and likes to load them on the computer to listen to. It also helped me load some old programs i like to work with. Easy to use and fast

It seems like more and more newer laptops do not have a CD drive anymore. I bought this to get around not having a drive in my laptop. The setup was very easy and so far the unit works great. Price was pretty good as well.
