Great price and deal when on sale....not to bad compaired to the junk ones(off the wall name brand)on Amazon...so far so good-you may spend more.... but this does everything your gonna need! i know because i bought the no name from Amazon and it didnt work out to good.....so go with LG its better than most....

Works well ... and was very reasonably priced. Much more economical than either buying a computer with a drive or trying to add a drive to the tower.

Excellent product. Works as advertised. This is exactly what I was looking for for my slim laptop that does not come with built in DVD player. This is slim sleek and quick plug n play so very easy to use.

Works like a charm. Bought a new HP laptop but they don't put DVD burners in the laptops anymore, I had at least 8 to 12 cd's with photos and documents on them, so I needed a way to move them to my computer. Plugged up the drive, put the cd in that came with it. everything installed worked great all my CD's photos and documents were loaded within 1/2 hour. I can now take my music CD's and put my music onto my computer for my media player. also very light and compact me and my computer case we're moving a desktop to the panel available fill up for the best

Very easy to connect to windows 11, quiet, clear directions

Needed a faster slimmer laptop primarily for business purposes. I am please with the size, speed and memory. Wish the geek squad support would be better integrated when buying a new equipment rather than getting home only to find out they did not completee installation the first time and have to come back. Other than that, I am pleased.

I just bought this external USB double layer DVD RW and it’s very good, I like it because it’s fast and slim, definitely a must have in your office or home to watch movies view your photo or copy your pictures on dvd

First let me say that I this caught drive on sale (under $15) and used a gift card to purchase it. I purchased this to read some DVD's and CD's with a new 13" Macbook Pro 2019. When I first attached it to the USB C to USB A adapter the drive light just flashed off and on but the laptop didn't recognize it. So I jumped online to LG's website to download the (very minimal) user manual, which was no help. I then did a search on Apple's support site to research possible solutions and determined that the Thunderbolt 3 ports were not supplying enough power to operate the drive. I ended up purchasing a self powered USB 3.0 hub to resolve the issue( J5 Create model JUH340) and what do you know but it works! When you read the description on the drive, it says it is compatible with MacOS it doesn't however say that a Macbook or any other USB C equipped laptop for that matter will power it. There is nowhere in the spec's where it states the power requirements for this drive. While I haven’t yet tried to burn a disc with it yet, considering what I have invested in it and the hub I think i've come out alright. I hope this helps some of you who might be considering this drive. FYI these cd's and dvd's were written on a Windows laptop and I had no problem reading them.

Works great out of the box as expected. Just what we needed to load some new software

After buying a new computer which had no optical drive, I thought of re-using my old built-in DVD writer, mounting it in the new computer. Nevertheless, understanding why few PCs now come with a built-in DVD drive, on a recommendation from a Best Buy sales associate, I decided to try out the LG Slim Portable DVD Writer. I was unexpectedly and pleasantly surprised by how well this external USB optical drive fills the same function as a built-in drive. For the small number of times that I anticipate having to read legacy optical disks (or discs!), or need to write disks, this solution works. My old optical drives are going to be donated to some local community computer geeks! This external drive is so compact (it is thinner than a paperback novel) that it can sit nicely beside books on a bookshelf.

Bought one of these DVD writers and have been very happy with it. I use a MAC and was thinking of getting the Apple brand which was double the price, but I am glad I bought this one. It was plug and play and has been easy to use. A great value.

This external drive is an excellent solution for the majority of today’s laptops, which have no optical drive. It is lightweight and portable...fits nicely in the case with my laptop. Love the fact that it is RW format for a low price.

i found this dvd to be an excellant purchase, it does everything it is supposed too, it installs easily, and its reasonably priced, i really recommend this dvd player

I used this product for at least an hour straight and never had a problem. So easy to use, just plug it into the computer and it’s ready to go. Great price for it, too. I was a little skeptical at first, but it didn’t let me down!

My new Dell All-In-One computer does not have a built-in drive to play CDs, so I purchased this external hard drive. It was so easy to install and easy to operate. The price was fantastic. Bought a new computer so we needed an external DVD/CD unit as the new computers do not have an internal DVD/CD. It is small, sleek and easy to hook up and use.

Great piece of equipment, I was afraid I wouldn't be able to view my CD'S on my new computer. This solved the problem.

I've been very happy with this external DVD player. I bought it since the HP Envy doesn't come with disk drive and this has worked really well as a substitute. I primarily use it for burning music CD's and it works great. I took off a star just because when the tray opens for you, to put in a disk or take it out, the tray does not come out far enough for the entire disk to be outside of the player. So you have to tilt the disk as you put it in and then snap it into place, while trying not to scratch the disk at all. It's not that hard to do, but it seems like it's an issue that could've been avoided pretty easily.
