I bought this because my new laptop did not have a DVD drive. It is very light weight, but for the cost, it was a good deal. I've tried it and it works great. I have to make sure it is on a flat surface; sometimes my desk is pretty full. :)

Great external drive. I have used it to download songs to a cd. So far I have had no problems whatsoever.

Bought this to add optical drive options with my new Mac Mini. Easy plug and play with Mac OS. Discs load promptly and fast read. Have not had a need to write to disk yet. Form factor is perfect to stack with the Mac Mini.

Goes on sale for about $20 everyone once and a while, and is a great value at that price. I personally use this with my laptop when I need to watch a DVD from the library or any of my old DVDs. I've also used it to rip a music CD from the library once. (I couldn't find the songs online) I think these are going the way of cassettes and laser discs but for now I still come across the occasional DVD or CD that needs to be read and this fits the bill.

In the day and age of laptops without optical disc drives, this is a great portable DVD/CD drive. Read speed is good, easy to transport and doesn't take up too much space.

My TV broke so I'm using my laptop, that hadn't been used at all for around 6 years. I already knew the DVD, cd unit didn't work and I had purchased a external USB unit before I didn't like it much and of course it disappeared. So I needed a new one. I knew if I went to cheap it would be a mess working with it. So I wanted to get somewhere in the middle market units. This unit works very well that I'm actually using it every day. Doesn't even seem that it's bothered by being on my bed vs a desk. I've been enjoying watching all my DVDs again. This player is the right one for me. It's not flimsy like it would break quickly. It's just right.

With most modern laptops lacking a CD/DVD drive, this is quite the convenient gadget. It's easy to use, work very well and fast. I've not had any issues with it a few months into owning it. A great purchase!

Product works fine , just as advertised. Included software doesnt seem to work in win 10 but its just bloatware anyway and much better software can be found online for free. Other than that I have no complaints.

Driver installs automatically when use is connected. No disk required. Convienant for laptops or all-in-one PCs that don't have disk drive. Great price for great product to convienantlt use "outdated" Disk drive that so many still have a need for.

For the sale price, it was well worth it. Nice quality. It is quiet like it says too. LG made a nice product here with this external player. Small and definitely can be carried around anywhere you go.

I had to get this for work because recent desktops came without drives. Most people don't really need them, but this external makes it possible for me to boot off of a diagnostic dvd I have. Life saver!

This would be a good product for anyone who doesn't have a CD slot in there laptop. It's perfect for me for school because it can slide in my bag because it's small and lightweight. Good for copying disc and compatible with most tv's for dvds.

This is a simple but great external drive. I needed it when I got my new desktop which didn't come with a drive installed. It's plenty fast and I can store it out of sight when I'm not using it.

With all the recent migration to Windows 10 ended up with a unit with no DVD/CD drive had some older programs which needed to be loaded with program on DVD/CD IT support stated I could "network" or "share" a drive from one of the existing computers...did not want to deal with sharing ---or I could connect to a external plug and play DVD/CD drive I went to local Best Buy spend the $ for a USB external which connected easily and was able to install my software--without help from IT One plus--- after use was able to give the drive to daughter who has a newer Mac with no drive so she can watch movies on it now

Works perfect for a great price, most laptops do not come with a CD anymore this is perfect

Does exactly what it says! Good buy. Used it for some CDs that I own.
