Works to play movies on Surface

Installed all the software from the included media. Also downloaded an app from the MS App Store. After a little playing around, we can now watch our old movies.

The center latch mechanism for securing the CD platter doesn't always retract so loading the disc can take a second try. Maybe it will loosen with age.

Works with laptops and desktops, plug and play. I've used with 3 different machines so far. The only thing is that the read time is kinda slow for data copying but it's rare that I need to do so. But having this for the occasional DVD burning is great!

Pretty good external cd drive

Easy to set up and use external drive.

No problem though the software was not needed. I just plugged the drive into the Mac with the included USB cable and inserted the disk I needed to use and it worked. I’m sure the doftware could be needed for writing to discs so I only have the product 4 stars.
