Laptops are a lot slimmer and sleeker these days. Unfortunately that means that they don’t have room to put a CD/DVD reader in the laptops. Plug this in and you’re good to go.

My wife needed a good way to save pictures from her preschool. The DVD/CD drive was just the solution. She was able to save pictures and then easily sort through the to choose the best shots for the end of year photos.

good purchase for college students living in dorms

only used it to play music dvd's and cd,, havent tried to burn any yet

I really don’t know how to rate this CD Burner. I bought it and by the time I got my son to hook it up and show me how to use it...... he says.... you already have a burner in your computer!!! Too late to return:(

Simple to use, which is good after years and years of having laptops with an internal DVD drive. I find it annoying to have to allow extra desk space for another drive. It functions fine.

I guess I am old and not up with the times and how computers don't have cd rom drives anymore....so we had to buy this, works great...and as you tech savvy folks know....barely have cd's anymore (I need Turbo tax load) that need to be viewed.

It worked super well with my MacBook Pro and played my dvds smoothly even though they were a bit scratched

This was exactly what I needed. It was quick and easy to order and go pick up from the store. The man at customer service was excellent as well.

Watch the in store pick up. Tried to charge me twice for this item. I purchased it off the shelf because it wasn't ready for pick up. Then went to get the rest of my order and cancel this. Best Buy in store pick up manager proceeded to generate a pick ticket and mark it as picked up even though i told her at least five times is just bought it and wanted to cancel the order. She then took a picture of the screen with her cell phone. Took 2 weeks and multiple emails to get the charge removed. Asst store manager Angelita does not care that she took a picture of my info. Trying to contact corporate about this flagrant disregard of security.

Liked it so much we went and bought another one. That's got to be a good review to buy another one.

Price: very reasonable Pick up: curbside, during Christmas weekend, couldn't be easier, very friendly associate Product: received in a sturdy box and packaging was clean and intact. I have not yet tested it.

Handy lil drive to use along with a laptop. Or pretty much anything that didn’t come with a built in disc drive.

Needed to purchase a laptop for my sons engineering classes which required a cd drive, which are hard t find with the requirements needed for his class. Best Buy recommended this and works like a charm.

Used it to burn a cute cd for my lady, just how we used to do it back in the day.

Works as expected and I've had no problems thus far. It would definitely benefit if from some kind of protective case if you're traveling with your laptop and peripherals, as it seems somewhat fragile.

It didn’t come with any directions and at first we spend time looking for a driver only to find out none was needed. They could have included some startup information. It does work no issues with the drive itself. Bought it to load software.

Worked great for my wife for her dvd. We needed to copy to her computer.

While others may find this drive a bit basic, it is adequate in those basic functions and is a more affordable alternative for those not wishing to spend larger amounts on a drive capable of more than they need.

We got new computers at work and they’re cloud based. So no more CD drive for this guy. How am I supposed rock out to Nirvana and Pearl Jam while working up TPS reports? So I ordered this sweet little external CD drive and I’m back jamming to “Loser”, baby.
