I bought it to download Microsoft in my computer and it was super easy to use and affordable

It does exactly what it says it does. It isn't fancy, it isn't all that, it'd a DVD RW drive and does it well. It's what I would expect from LG.

My laptop is a Dell xps 15 9570 and is lacking an optical drive and most laptops that are light are getting away from internal built drives. I use Nero and Roxio as program sources and have made one BD disk from a 4k movie. Have an expansion port which has 4 SS 3.0 usb and other end has male usb which plugs into the female usb port on laptop. Then connected the 2 male usb into the 2 female usb ports on expansion card. The optical drive recognized cd, dvd dvd dual dvd (+,-) as well as DVD RAM, BD RE, and BD-R) the only one I could not test was BD DL since I didn't have the media. Speeds were comparable to what each medium indicated on label.

desktop had no disc reader, this does the job at reasonable price.

Good price. It was so much easier to use than I thought. No brainer. Just connected the decice, popped in the DVD and downloaded it to computer. Glafni went to Best Buy tonget this year evice. Always the experts on what we need!

It does well for what I needed it for. Easy to use and compatible with my laptop, which I bought without a disc drive. My next computer will have a disc drive but for now this product worked well.

i gave this item a shot and this cd burner works great. it feels light but it very nice.

Recently purchased a new PC and I didn't want to pay to have an internal DVD/burner drive for as little as I need to have one. Price is great and the until works well. Nice and quiet. Sits very nicely on top of my new PC tower.

Internal CD/DVD drive decided to fail; and was able to pick this up and finish my project within an hour. Portability is a great plus- and occupies less space than a traditional drive. Big fan of LG.

Works well on my Alienware M18XR2 with Windows 7 Ultimate, it truly was plug-n-play as advertised using only the USB 2.0 port. Only complaint is that the included literature is not very instructive, I had to kind of figure things out for myself. The included software was not helpful for me, I could not use it to play DVD's but since I prefer Cyberlink PowerDVD anyway it was not a big issue. When using the drive for the first time it required that I choose a region for the drive before it will play DVD's (was Region 1 in my case, Canada/USA/USA Territories). Again not a big deal but would have been nice if there were some instructions that advised you that this would be required.

I bought it because of the price and i never knew that it was so important and necessary for my computer and i really like it it works fine

Love this device...im able to make dvd disc to digital and play old school disc games. Theres a small learning of program but once you learn it, its easy. I would highly recommend this item if you are looking for a disc portable drive or even for house use since all computers dont have a disc drive.

This CD/DVD drive can stand up to excessive use. I used it for transferring years worth od CD/DVD data and it worked great. It's a lso very inexpensive. I have switched to USB drives now but this comes in handy for any older cd's that need transferring to newer media.

While it feels rather flimsy, and makes quite a lot of noise when working, it is a useful little thing and worth the price. No idea about it's longevity though.
