This is a nice addition if you are buying a new laptop without dvd and still have software on CDs. Glad I purchased this product. Nice and compact to carry in a laptop bag.

Works great for reading discs and I highly recommend this producr.

This is a very nice laptop, just don't like the fact that the product doesn't come with a DVD drive. If they are going to take out the DVD drive they should replace it with more USB ports. It doesn't respond well with PnP devices.

Wasn’t aware that new laptops are not made with cd drives. Thanks for this gadget I was able to download my software.

I had this drive for my kid, seeing the features bought it to use on both TV and Laptop, it works great with Laptop but little noisy, not working with my Sony smart TV anyways.

Purchesed as a gift. She will take it with her to college in case she needs to watch dvd

Up to this point, I've always had an internal disk drive in my laptops, and I really didn't want this type, but had no choice; this unit has changed my mind.

No bells and whistles, or LED lightshow, or flashy designs. Just a really good, solid drive that will meet your needs and not cost you a week's pay.

Works as expected, you don't have much choice now if you still use dvd's as most new computers have no drive.

Its ok I bought it for one use and I've don't that but I went to play old cds and said I needed to upgrade the software I don't want to

I replaced by old laptop and the new one had no cd/dvd drive. This is an inexpensive solution. I've had no problems with it so far. It's not that fast, but I really don't need fast.

We experienced greatly improved playback with this device.

okay but if you have an apple Macbook/or applecomputer w/o disc drive is okay, but original /apple product ids the best spend some extra $- you won"t regret it!!!!!

The only critique is that the open button doesn't work when the reader is not plugged in (which is a problem when I've forgotten to eject the disk while still plugged in to the computer).

I bought this for my pc build, lg is a very good brand all around and has been yet to let me down

I purchased this product because it was inexpensive and the only one I found in stock. It worked well with my laptop and currently have no complaint.

for an external drive I was surprised at how fast it was. no where near internal drive read speeds but for something small and portable I was pleasantly surprised.

Works perfect, only wish is it had a longer cable.

I guess the unit is doing what it's supposed to do, but I can't get it to download music data. It could be a problem with the program (plus my ineptness). I haven't figured out how to transfer data to record on it. The only thing I've been able to do is play a disk.
