    This device enables one to play CDs and DVDs on a laptop with no on board ports or drives. One does need to use the universal connector though.

    Needed a device to play or write to my surface pro (no internal drive option so this was needed). Works fine and can run off the surface pro USB connector which is good.

    I needed to back up my computer and Best Buy suggested the LG. They are a good product but it was just a bit confusing in setting it up but once it was things are fine.

    Great use for when I'm away from home (camping) and I want to watch a movie, but my phone has bad reception. Keep those old CD's and DVD's.

    Was able to install ok, but playing DVDs with the program it came was, was not working. So I had to download a different program.

    I bought this to burn CDs and it has worked just fine so far. I added the Geek Squad protection just in case anything goes wrong but I have no complaints.

    Easy setup. Quick response time. My only gripe is its so thin and lite I feel like I'm going to rough it up when I try to use it. Overall tho I'm satisfied and it does what it's supposed to do.
