    With this DVD drive, I purchased an Apple USB-c to standard USB converter and tried to use it with my new Mac- book pro. Apparently, the USB-c port doesn't provide enough power to run the device, only to light the LED. I plugged it into my old Macbook air with a standard USB port and it worked well. So it didn't meet my expectations, but it was more of an Apple design problem than the DVD drive, I think. Fortunately, it only cost ~$24.

    a lot of computers do not support cd anymore but are still needed if you are upgrading, fits the bill nicely!

    I bought this as a cd writer but also to connect to a tv and watch movies but it was too complicated to configure :(

    The laptop these day does not come with dvd rom. It is good to have one at home just in case to read the old files on cd/dvd rom
