    Purchased this unit to install various software programs due to the fact my desktop computer had one of those cd/dvd readers which is mounted in the vertical position. This vertical unit is very filmsy. As stated above in the summary, this portable unit got the job done and was considerably more stable . The LG unit made funny noises every once in awhile, but still installed software.

    It works well for what I needed for. Laptop has not DVD player. You will have to download a DVD player program to use it.

    5 star playing CD, 0 star for playing DVD. I purchased for both and am highly frustrated that technology is so complicated when you should just be able to listen and watch without all these other bells and whistles. I hate this because I can't do what I purchased it for.
