I still have a desire to own physical data like music. Since iTunes messes with my songs, I own the original cd to play in the car. Since my laptops are now lacking a dvd writer/player, I want to play said discs on them on occasion. The speed is quite impressive! I haven’t had any issues so far. I really got this as the price is too good to pass up [sic]! I am going to explore the dual-layer capability soon!

Bought this as the old DVD/CD player in my laptop was so slow making CD's or DVD's. This one is a jewel. Super fast, quiet, and came with free program. Love it. Fantastic price.

Bought this reader when my laptop stopped reading disk. This is a much cheaper option than fixing my disk drive. This is a great dvd/CD reader for a very fair price. Easy to connect plays all my movies music and games.

New laptops and tablets have no CD/DVD drives, as this saves size and weight. I have a Surface Pro and a ZBook, for the heavy lifting, and they both lack these drives. Plugging in the LG drive allowed me to read old CD/DVD-ROM disks with these Win10 computers. I did not try RW disks. I briefly installed bundled software, but uninstalled it as I didn’t want it. You don’t need it. Windows has all the drivers. Conclusion: This drive is good to have when you need to read an optical disk. Four stars means this item performs all functions with a high degree of finesse. Five stars is reserved for equipment that delivers above all expectations.

This is a nice compact DVD+RW/CD Player. It fits very easily under my Desk Top PC monitor and plays movies and CDs . It does a very good job.

This little thing gets the job DONE! excellent speed, ease of use, and it comes with so many great software programs to write CD's, DVD's, edit pics, etc. Great value!

I've been very happy with this external DVD player. I bought it since the new macbook pro's don't come with disk drives, and this has worked really well as a substitute. I primarily use it for watching DVD's and burning music CD's and it works great for both. I took off a star just because when the tray opens for you to put in a disk or take it out, the tray does not come out far enough for the entire disk to be outside of the player. So you have to tilt the disk as you put it in and then snap it into place, while trying not to scratch the disk at all. It's not that hard to do, but it seems like it's an issue that could've been avoided pretty easily.

This product proofed to be outstanding as an addition to my computer capabilities. Does exactly what I wanted.

This cd drive is amazing, very compact size and easy to use , just plus and play

so far okay. small and light. cord is short so it has to sit on top of tower. good enough to run simple disc. got for $20 so can't complain.

The external USB DVD/CD drive is just what I needed for loading my new laptop with FTM software program. I also enjoy CDs being played while I work on the laptop. It works well for looking at the homemade DVDs from 2007. It is sad that the majority of laptops do not offer the option of the built in drive tray.

I love this DVD player it is so nice to add to my computer. I get to use my DVDs my music, my movies. My computer did not come with a DVD player but this portal one works very well on the TV and my Computer.
