It’s hard to use and it freezes up The rewind and fast forward doesn’t work

Bought this because I wanted to play DVD's on my laptop that does not have a disc drive. After spending 30 mins trying to download their software and playing through tutorials, I gave up. Maybe this is good for burning CDs, but it does not work as a DVD player, as the Best Buy employee told me it would.

Good product and easy to use. I purchased this to use with my Surface Book 2, and it is an easy plug-n-play accessory. The speed is decent, I didn't have to do anything special to get it to work, it was compatible, it's inexpensive and came with everything I needed to use it out of the box. It's low profile, so it doesn't get in the way and easy to store when not in use. It was a good buy.

Very easy to use, slim, light weight. No regrets with this purchase. I bought this to import my cds to my iTunes account so I could liberate myself from subscriptions. I use it with my MacBook Pro. I just connected to my laptop and the disc reader made itself at home. Other readers were $70.00+ this one was inexpensive and on sale and works perfectly. One of my new favorite purchases. You can apparently connect it to the tv as well and use it as a DVD player. Haven’t used that feature yet though but it’s a cool bonus.

Works like a charm! We needed a way to get some pictures and videos of our discs and this was easy to setup and use. On top of that it is small, lightweight, and fits nicely into your computer bag! Highly recommend it as it works well and is a great price!

Love this and its easy to set up very simple to use. These days laptops don't come with a disk drive so we have to buy one luckily for me one that still uses a cd disk that they offer a way to do this. Its very small and very lightweight. It is a bit slow but I didn't need anything fancy to use. This is very affordable for those on a budget and those that are just not needing anything really expensive and not all the bells and whistles. I really only needed it to be able to get my software onto my new laptop in which I love it. Most these days everything's in the Cloud lol. Its a bit noisy but not over noisy. Readon for saying its noisy is I have had a lot quieter disk drives. Its basically plastic but it serves it purpose. Would I buy again if I needed one well yeah I would and would I recommend it to anyone yes again I would, besides anyone on a budget or didn't really need anything fancy its an alright machine.

It is portable and does work well as external drive. I had a laptop that does not have a CD/DVD drive and this does a good job. Good to have it around for small, lightweight, inexpensive laptop.

It worked perfect and I was able to rip my old CD collection quickly! Also it small quiet and compact so it won’t take up much space. One last thing it was plug and play so I was able to get going immediately.

Easy to install and works great. As a senior citizen and not so Savey on computer stuff, this was a plus for me. So happy that a Best Buy worker helped me with this purchase once I explained what I was looking for. Very satisfied.

I like this little CD/DVD drive quite a bit. Since most of the newer laptops now come without internal optical drives, one might want to get an external one to use for reading and writing to CD/DVD. The feature I like the most about this drive is a one-cable connection to USB port on my laptop, no need for the separate power cord that would make the use of the drive less convenient. I did not try to write to any disks yet, but CDs and DVDs play very well. I like that they included the Cyberlink Media Suite 10 installation CD in case your laptop does not have any media suites. The drive is very lightweight and compact, you can easily take it with the laptop on the go. It also has a mode to connect directly to the TV set, so you can use it as an alternative to the normal DVD player.

Nice simple low cost external drive. Works fine to copy/transfer/play DVD or CD programs or movies. Lightweight plastic housing is sufficient for normal use, but don't drop it on a corner, it might crack. Quiet & fast enough, a good easy to carry along addition to a newer laptop that doesn't include an optical drive.

This external drive works seamlessly with my 2023 MacBook Pro. It only requires a USB to USB-C adapter if you do not have a USB port on your Mac. Nothing to install, this drive runs right out of the box. Works great for burning and downloading DVDs

Being that everything today is going 100% digital and nothing is available in a hard format, as well as Apple Mac products no longer having disc drives, I needed to purchase an external drive, after sifting through a lot of poorly manufactured cheap drives I found this inexpensive well made LG entry level budget friendly disc drive, it does what it is stated to do and gets the job done well with no problem. It is thin and compact and the usb cord is just long enough to not be in the way, it stows well in a laptop bag. I have used it so far to read and write CDs for my MacBook and I am completely satisfied with the performance. For something so simple and compact and made of mostly plastic this little LG seems to me to be the best choice for the money so far.
