Didn't work on my mac book pro

I loaded the software on my laptop. I put in a DVD to play a movie. The movie will not play.I tried several DVDs and none of them will play. I am extremely disappointed in this product. I will take it to the store and see if the Geek Squad can get it to play DVDs.

It's annoying. It also has a problem being found to record data on Macs running OS X 14.2. Tech support was no help and I have an older Mac I use to record data.
