After receiving high quotes to install software I already owned I found this plug and play DVD writer for much less and it worked like a gem!

new laptops don't come with a dvd/cd , si i got this to make cd of all my music on my itunes for playing in my car when i drive. mostly thee music from the 70s and 80s.

My new computer from Best Buy didn’t have a drive like my old one. I love music and this unit sounds great!

I just purchased a new computer from Best Buy. and much preferred the built-in CD burner in my old computer. I was disappointed to learn they no longer have built-in ones. You have to hold this one just right so as not to block the button to open it. It is very light weight and, therefore, slides all over. I use a CD burner all the frequently and never look forward to using this one.

Works with MacBook Air (OS Monterey) but it’s not recognized without a disc in and has to be ejected by the MacBook to change discs. Not the fastest but gets the job done.

A great little device for access to cd/ dvd with all your archived information on them.

IF THE DVD PLAYER QUITS WORKIING, IT WILL BE EASY TO REPLACE.

Bought it today because I had a different brand and it wasn’t working. I had no problems with getting this to play my dvds with my laptop. No issues so far what so ever. I’m very happy with it.

Works great with my computer to view 16 mm tapes that were transferred to discs since computers don’t have disc drives anymore

I was pretty excited to get this in the mail, but that excitement turned sour when I learned that not only does it *not* do anything, it borderline killed my laptop with its programs. To get a little indepth there: I tried DVD movies, I tried old CDs that should've had files on them, I tried video game installations - nothing worked. Any time I ran the programs, my computer would lag into oblivion - something it *shouldn't* be doing as it's made to run, and effectively runs, some hardcore video games and file sizes; I almost had to manually shut it down a few times because the whole screen would go blank or black. It doesn't help it didn't come with instructions. The only instructions it had was how to put it together for different platforms - something so painfully easy to do, imo - not for how to actually use it. The only good things was the ease of hooking it up to devices and being in good physical condition, but that doesn't mean much if it wont work as it's supposed to. Unfortunately, I can't even return this product as I didn't have an account prior to this review and lack the return slip necessary for it - if that's even possible with covid going on. Huge waste of money I could've used on a product that actually meets my needs. So... unless your a tech god like half the review section apparently is, I wouldn't recommend this.

this has been the best dvd burner ive had in a while. burns quick.

I will be able to use it for data storage, but it will not allow me to upload programs from a disk to my HP Chromebook. For example, I would like to find a program such as Word that will load onto my HP for weighting purposes. Do you know of something that can help me?
