Glad to have music again!

Christmas was so much better with music. It is very easy to connect the drive to my laptop and listen to my music. It is somewhat cumbersome to have room to set the drive down, but it is worth the effort to find room for the unit.

Good in a pinch, good for the long term

I was going to replace this iwth a BluRay version and walked into the store, saw this instead at half the price and bought it instead. I took it home and ripped 20 CD's to iTunes. Very happy with this. It will likely last at least 5 years or more. It will also be heavily used.

Easy to install into the laptop and handy around.

The cord that's included with the drive is way too short, and the drive will periodically hitch while reading. Outside of that, it works fine for watching dvds, though I haven't tried to burn anything using it, and while I haven't heard many good things about the included software, you can just use vlc media player.
