If you're the other person, I can recommend this plug in play DVD/CD Writer. The industry decided to drop the cd drive so this is my only alternative. I'm ripping and burning happily again!

I was so used to have a DVD/CD drive on my laptop. When I got the new one, I didn't miss it at first. Someone gave me a CD and I wanted to download that and some others to my music so I purchased this. Really glad that I did. Just plug it in, used it and unplug it. Easy peasy.

Works on my MacBook Pro!

The CD/DVD software that comes with it is very outdated, and does not work on a Mac, so that would be my only con to this. Otherwise it plays great! Just plugs in to my adapter and works perfect. I've seen others mention this, but the opening does in fact shoot out pretty quickly when ejecting or opening the drive, so it does need a stable flat surface that can be gripped on, otherwise it'll move itself.

Review of my External USB Drive

I watch a lot of DVD's and listen to CD's as well, I also play a lot of PC games, especially the older ones that need a RW drive. The new computer I just bought did not have one as most of the new PC's do not have one built into the PC. This drive works very well to my satisfaction. In fact, it works better than the internal ones that were in my older computers.
