I used this external drive to transfer my cds to my computer . This drive worked very well, the cds were kind of hard to take out of the drive after ripping, unsure if it’s me or the drive but overall it got the job done.

Am I the only one that often saves and plays my music from my laptop? If you're the other person, I can recommend this plug in play DVD/CD Writer. The industry decided to drop the cd drive so this is my only alternative. I'm ripping and burning happily again!

After I purchase my MacBook from Best Buy, I realized I needed something to play my DVDs. This was a cheap item and it works very well.

Only gave it 4 stars as I have not used it enough to go higher. I purchased a new compact laptop that does not have a DVD drive so this external unit fills that void nicely. Includes software disc, loaded easily, and works fine so far. Read and write functions work fine, speed is adequate for my purposes. Includes USB cable so no other accessories are needed.

So use to a laptop with a cd player attach ima laptop but the new laptops doesn’t have them so I needed to get this unit to use. Easy to install into the laptop and handy around.

I purchased this drive to use my tax software on my laptop, it works fine and light weight, easy to store and carry. Good product.

In my search for a good but economical purchase of an external DVD player, I found the LG -8x External USB Double-Layer DVD+RW/CD-RW Drive in Black at Best Buy. My experience with this external player is good. It started up fast and performed at a good pace. I purchased this mainly to be able to watch my old DVD CD movies and it does the job quite well! With this solid built but light weight player I can easily take it with me on the go. I am sure I will find many uses for it besides watching movies. I am happy with it!

LG always makes great stuff. This DVD is well made and solid construction. Easy to use and quick responding.

Easy set up - plug and play. Faster and more reliable than my installed DVD player on a Dell xps 8300.
