Works like it should. The laptop I bought did not have a DVD drive so I got this. Easy to install and use.

This external drive works well. The only problem is that you need to download a video player software program like VLC in order to play discs on a Mac laptop. Mac will recognize the external drive without any additional steps. Then, you have to select the video player program as the primary program for playing discs.

Who still uses DVD drives? Yeah, well there are some really old bits of media that I need to access still. Usually just to put on my backup hard drive. So, when my old one stopped working I had to get a new one. It works perfectly fine. I have no issues with it, although it does seem to be a bit glitchy with my definitely old version of Mac OS. But it works and I really like how compact it is. It makes accessing old DVDs and CDs a breeze. If it weren't for the hangups a couple of times (which did require me to turn off my computer), I'd give it 5 stars.

It works and price was right. No complaints. Allowed me to do a BIOS update on a laptop.

This DVD drive is exactly what I needed! My older computers had built-in CD players/recorders that were difficult to use and did not work all the time. Of course, the new computers don't even have them built in anymore. Just something important to remember when you're purchasing your new computers/laptops. I do a lot of recording for workout DVDs, etc. and the LG is efficient, easy to use and a necessity for my office!

I was in a pinch and needed a cd drive quickly. Best Buy stepped up to the plate and knocked it out of the park. I received this in about a day, delivered right to my house. No complicated set up. Just plug in and play. Thank you LG and thank you Best Buy for making my life just a little bit less complicated.

Plug and play, does exactly what I need it to do. Decent price for and older technology, but when you need it, you need it.

This drive is quiet and fast, and so far has worked on every PC and Laptop I’ve connected it to. Handy for newer units that don’t come with a drive any more.
